Currently using adroll, wanting a backup because their guidelines are very strict.

Anyone got any recommendations?

Backup for what?
Tested some shit on perfect audience, real good support and didn't have any issues with approvals. Dont know how the numbers compare to adroll or other platforms. I think approvals are on the partners side anyway (Fb or any other assets the platform works with).

So you placed cookies with adroll (their domain?) and now you want to change the network? doesn't this mean you will lose all your existing cookies?

I'm new to this and don't understand yet how this works. Due to the nature of my traffic I only have the user on a 302 redirection at the moment. So I could only set a cookie of from own domain in that header I guess.. Not sure if I really want to put a JS-redirection in between with some 3rd party pixel/cookie..

I use adroll for their Facebook Retargeting and Google Display for my Display Retargeting.

I haven't played around with any of the other retargeting platforms.

I don't think he's looking to change networks, but rather have a backup network so that he still has his list if Adroll bans him.

care to elaborate? I don't get on what domain the cookies are. So if Adroll bans him, his cookies are gone anyway I guess?

You're over complicating this. He wants to place an adroll cookie and then a backup cookie. If adroll bans him then he'll still have the backup cookies placed.

on what domains are the cookies you are referring to?
Like, I assume adroll cookie = adroll domain, and his backup cookie = ?? his domain ?
so, are there networks that can work with cookies that are on your own domains?

The backup cookie would be from another retargeting company, such as Google or Retargeter.

No, you don't get control over your list.

If you place an adroll tag on your site you put all that intelligence into adroll. If they kick you off, you lose all that intel.

So I was wanting a second company's tag up, so that I have the intel in two different places and am therefore diversified.

For Display Retargeting, I'd go with Adwords. I love their segmenting, way more robust than Adroll.

FYI: If you do any youtube marketing, you can remarket to people who have watched your youtube videos via Adwords.

Can you retarget from one domain to another? Like, I place a "Big-Brand's-Banner" on some site, visitor clicks on it and hits my redirect script. Redirect script drops retargeting cookie and takes visitor to Big-Brand's site. Now, wherever visitor goes, he sees "Big-Brand's-Banner" again again, but Big-Brand will register me as affiliate who brought the buyer.

Has anybody tried that. Practically one is getting credit for afflliate sales just by shifting traffic around.

You're over complicating this. Retargeting is really simple. Just drop the cookie and then redirect to your affiliate link for the big brand.
