Revolutionary new car engine developed at Michigan State

I surely hope this is more than yet another academic grab at the generous teats of government/institutional research funding. 3.5x efficiency boost is TREMENDOUS. Not just for car engines but for power generators too. Also, less fuel consumption means more petroleum for FERTILIZER = cheaper food.

But seriously, I will believe anything that comes out of MState once it has been produced. The guy in the video is still referencing parts that must attach to the 'engine' that are not even there yet.

Typical university press release: all fluff and no stuff. Good bye Detroit!

I remember watching a documentary about electric cars and this guy had a engine that was performing close to gas engines in some areas and surpassing it in other areas. It was extremely quiet and there was no messy engine, and hardly any engine upkeep.

This efficiency, would reduce multiple companies profits and the killed this engine during the market testing. People were using these cars and LOVING them. And then these companies lead by the gas industry basically got them all repo'd.

Sucks man, I think this same guy, (or maybe a different one) invented solar panels that basically look/replace the shingles on your roof (or part of it) and they were so efficient that it would power every need in the house year round, storing energy for the night.

He got stopped as well but he has it on his on personal house in Sweden or something somewhere and was giving a tour of it.

What ever happened to fuel cell type stuff? GM was pursuing it a couple of years ago, but I haven't heard anything, since.

It's not much different than the engine invented by Nikola Tesla about 100 years ago...good job copying something guys!
