Kubrik may have been trying to send a message to people that he thought the Apollo stuff was staged. But there's no fucking way Kubrik did the faking himself. He made a movie called "Dr Strangelove" in 1964 that was HIGHLY critical of the governments abuse of power, etc. There's no fucking way in hell the government would ask HIM to do such a thing. The Apollo 11 shit happened in 1969, 5 yrs after Dr. Strangelove came out.
Fake moon landing or not, I somehow feel Kubrick was trying to tell his audience something through this film.
Ya there was possibly some type of hidden message. Maybe it was his opinion that Apollo 11 was staged and he was trying to relay that.
