Pretty sad when foreign news agencies cover our country better than we can.

Ron Paul is being forced out of the convention by one of the richest men to ever run for US Presidency, when he is legally entitled to be there.

Dr Paul reportedly won the "plurality of delegates" in five states - Louisiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Maine and Nevada - the minimum number to be named on the nomination ballot at the convention. He was originally set to be awarded 15 minutes of speaking time.

But in a meeting just days before the convention started, Republican officials voted to change the rules of the conference, raising the minimum number of states for a speaking spot from five to eight.

And it looks like Paul will not be running again.

Instead, his son, who sold out to Romney, didn't win any states because he didn't run, will be speaking.. LOL!

from the article, "...Giving an hour-long speech-cum-history lecture at the University of South Florida on Sunday..."

Sounds messy.

Real shame about Ron Paul, though.

Seriously, you guys are going to get into a major mess in near future. Good Luck to ya all. They should have atleast given him a chance to appear at the convention. I knew this would happen as a last min change in rulebooks to ensure ron paul is out of the game

Ron Paul is 77 he is not running for House of Rep either, he will retire.

He tried and America failed. At some point we will default on our debt and shit gonna get real.

Yeah it's a major bummer but what I want to point out is that just because you are not in the USA doesn't mean that it is just "our mess" when we go south the world will be affected.

So this effects everyone brah.

Several months ago, they offered Ron Paul a speaking slot, but on the condition that he give Mitt a wholehearted endorsement, and they approve his speech beforehand. Rand pretty much was given the spot in his place, if he endorse Mitt and the campaign stop helping the grassroots take over state conventions.

Yesterday, he gave the speech they wouldn't let him give at the RNC.

(Ron Paul begins at 10:00 mark)

RNC has other problems at the moment:

TAMPA, Fla. — Republican leaders hastened Monday to quell an uprising by Texans and Ron Paul supporters that threatened to steal the spotlight from GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney and expose rifts in the party as its nominating convention got under way.

Under a compromise reached late Monday, Romney supporters and GOP leaders agreed to back down from a proposed rule change that effectively would have allowed presidential nominees to choose what delegates represent them at national conventions.

The proposed change was aimed at muting the power of insurgent candidates such as tea party favorite Ron Paul, but prompted an uproar from Texas Republicans, who select their delegates through successive votes in conventions at precincts, then districts and finally statewide.

Butch Davis, a member of the RNC Rules Committee who fought off the proposal, said the existing Texas system often elevates grass-roots activists and party faithful toiling in the trenches, but the proposed change would have instead allowed GOP leaders and presidential candidates to hand-select delegates and reward donors with delegate spots.

“We believe in Texas as a principle that no presidential candidate nor the RNC should be able to tell Texas who can or cannot be a delegate to the national convention,” Davis said.

“This isn't Reagan vs. Ford, Goldwater vs. Rockefeller,” Davis added. “This is George Washington vs. King George.”

How is it even legal what they're doing? I know nothing will come of it, but I really hope something does.

PLz ignore the dude at the desk with the shrill voice:

I've got this hurricane thing figured out now. It was NEVER a threat to tampa.

Hurricane Tracker - weather.com

The RNC knew that Paul's people had already (past tense) sold out the Sun Dome days before, and the extras were going to go over into a open-top stadium. They also knew that they'd all be carrying signs and having marches and so on... A huge crowd, and those are just the ones that didn't get tickets into the huge 11,000 seat arena.

...And they also knew the world press would be there to get it all (And P.a.u.l. Fest) on film.

So midweek last week sometime, they are shitting their pants about the world about to see a massive crowd of people there to Oppose their golden boy, all on world media... And here comes a relative-near-miss hurricane, No, not close enough to do anything more than make it rain a little... But they were desperate...

So they sent out a command to all MSM stations and even NOAA itself: REPORT THAT IT IS HEADED TOWARDS TAMPA.

When tens of thousands of RP folks, with a few days to go before leaving for tampa, who weren't even able to get tickets, heard that they'd be standing outside in a hurricane, what do you think they did?

Once again, the MSM has destroyed liberty.

How is it even legal what they're doing? I know nothing will come of it, but I really hope something does.

The RNC and DNC are private clubs (like a golf club or yacht club) so they can make up their own rules as they go. People tend to assume they are part of government since that's where most of the elected leaders come from, but they are not. They simply provide candidates for office, it's up to the people whether they want to vote for those candidates or not.

I saw all this shit first hand once I became a precinct delegate. I had always just thought our system was broken, but now I realize it's doing exactly what it was designed to do. You can't fix something that isn't broken - we're fucked.

This pretty much guarantees I will never volunteer for the Republican party again.

The system has always been broken, I think more people are just starting to realize it. Ron Paul should show up outside the convention and give his speech. Still can't believe his son sold out like that
