Ron Paul: He's In!

aren't ron paul and john mccain the same age? Age never got brought up for mccain

Uhhh yeah it did. Don't you remember this is why people especially freaked out that he would die and leave Palin in charge of the country.

"Change we can believe in." is BS. We need change that is real. If not Ron Paul than maybe some other candidate that has his/her head screwed on straight.

America needs to get back to the roots of our Constitution !

Going to attend the May 5th debate. It's here in Greenville SC, and the first Presidential debate of the election cycle, so I'll be loud in support of RP.

what the fuck is the point? he cant win so why waste the effort?

well over half of the american population is on some form of welfare, few people will vote themselves out of free money, housing, food, medical, etc.

so yea, good luck with that Paul.

the only people he appeals to are white tax payers who don't get any form of welfare. there are about 50-100 of us left in the U.S. so I don't know where the fuck his votes are going to come from...

If we get you a Ron Paul Cured My Apathy bumper sticker, would that help?
The reason we have to deal with this shit is because this what our parents believed as well. "Vote for the lesser of 2 evils" or "Don't vote at all, it doesn't matter."

Fuck that. The mere fact that he's running again is good news. Even if he doesn't get elected, with every shot he takes at the Whitehouse, more people hear the freedom message. Look at it as free advertising for freedom if nothing else.

If Paul came right out and said "Vote for me and I will abolish the personal income tax!" he'd be on the right track... but of course he's the only Republican that isn't a loud-mouthed catch phrase spewing lout.

I think folks are working on it. Start here.

Unfortunately it started to fall apart when everybody started going back to working on their own things :(

If the people who were interested with it originally (Unarmed Gunman, punchmyface, BeerNuts, bigwill, etc.) still want to do something we can get it started again.

I thought you guys were on a major conservative sweep, cutting budgets, reducing military and what not. Not true?
To an extent. There's more that could be done, imo, particularly in the way of benefits (housing benefit, jobseekers allowance, etc etc.) David Cameron doesn't seem to suck Obama's dick as much as some of the other prime ministers (I think the government & queen doesn't like him hehe) but we still follow you blindly on a lot of things. (In military aspects especially)

(not an expert on US politics so this may be a stupid question but) government is much bigger than just a president. Even if elected, what exactly can Ron Paul accomplish without backing of senate and congress?

I'll vote for him again, but more with a "meh, why not" attitude than the "omg we're going to fix America!" attitude that I had last year. At this point I believe we could resurrect T. Jefferson and put him in office and this country wouldn't be much better off.

would be interesting to see what would happen if RP got elected and cut our empire down to nothing. Wonder if you guys would take over the role or back down as well.

He has said that many times. In fact, on his official literature that we handed out prior to the last Repub primary he basically said that. When I showed it to republicans and even explained how he would be able to do this they just laughed and said it's not possible. Not many people in the country understand where the federal government really gets the money to fund the empire. Although I do think that is changing at a snails pace.
