100% agree, and I'm pro-legalization for this reason alone.

When something is illegal, there are additional costs beyond the cost of, or preference for, production.

Risk premium, chance of jail time, legal fees, black market premiums etc.

To argue that these costs don't raise the price more than their absence is an economics fail.

Fair enough. I need to sometimes learn to cut myself off and not argue for the sake of arguing. I've spoken with multiple people that grow, and none of them really concern themselves with the cost of risk. They just grow it and make up their own price (usually low). But I see where this would factor in with bigger market cartels that mass-produce. Which is probably the bulk of the market.
