The problem with typical libertarians (anarcyhists are exception) is:
1. They want to be free from other powers toward them
2. They don't want to be powerful themselves.
The thing is you sort of need #2 to be reversed if you want to neutralize #1
Think about Rusian having nukes and blackmailing US. The only way to be "free" from blackmailing is to have nukes yourself aimed at Rusia.
That's why in typical contract we often have harsh exit clauses against those who cheat us.
You can't get people not to fuck you over unless you invest in power to fuck them over too.
And once you have the power, why stop at "fair"? Why not go all the way and oppress people?
