That is crazy, The so called "experts" are doing all they fucking can to "contain" the spill, I say fuck that "containing" it is bullshit BP will get their money back really fast this is just a little spike in their wallet but a fucking bomb on the travel in the Gulf which is awesome. I say they listen to the two top experts on this topic and pump all the oil from the well's to a couple supertankers and call it a day by cleaning up the rest of the spill

So the whole Gulf Of Mexico is basically one big oil field? That shit has got to be killing a shit load of wildlife. SMH

On another note, I actually worked at the BP refinery in Texas City for a few weeks. They produce, I forget how much but it's in the millions if not billions of dollars worth of fuel every day. I shit you not.

Thats the reason why I said they're going to gain that money back real quick but the environment is going to suffer severely and i think some species of animals are going to go extinct

If it hits FL we are fucked.

Im pretty sure it will with that ammount of oil its bound to diffuse across the whole gulf until its equally distributed only then will we have cleared it a little bit and the earths natural purifying process will slowly kick in

Zoom out on that shit and see how big it really is.

...Also short and buy BP for the long term. Get that Bugatti money.

The Deepwater Horizon was leased from Transocean for $500,000 per day, and that's just one rig.

this whole situation is just sad. hurricane season is about to hit, and the southern states are going to be hit pretty bad by this. my brother works on the rigs in the gulf as a welder, and he told me that it's just a huge mess; the fisherman are just fucked.

That's a nasty spill.

I still don't know why they didn't just cave the earth in around the leak to stop it the first day (yeah, they'd have lost infastructure, but the rig was already messed up), then used some skimming boats to grab the oil on the surface. It'd have prevented this whole mess from getting this far and not destroyed the majority of the fishing income that's a big part of the Gulf's income for the next few years.

Anyone smart enough to stop bitching for a few seconds and think about the financial ramifications would of went bearish on crude futures and done quite nicely last week...

Just saying.

I don't understand how it can be so fucking difficult to put a cap on this thing so it stops spewing thousands of gallons of oil per day. All of this "top kill' bullshit that's not working. Just stop the damn thing already. Why are we allowing these retards to keep "trying" to fix it. Get Harry Stamper, Bear & Rockhound in there to get this shit done. I'll keep Liv Tyler company in the meantime.

They should drop tactical nukes into the Gulf until
(a) the leak is sealed shut via depth charge or placed nuke
and
(b) all the surface oil is burnt off.

Also - for some local perspective as to the size of the Gulf spill's surface oil relative to your hometown, go to the following site and enter your city's name.... and note this overlay is from May 21 when it was 6 million gallons. As of the 31st, according to the info on the website, it's now ~8 million gallons!

p.s. just kidding about the nukes. With the possible exception of placed (a)

During the presidential campaign, Barack Obama was highly critical of the Bush administration response to Hurricane Katrina, and he vowed things would improve when he was president.

Fuck Barack Obama

So which part of this satellite image is the actual oil spill? the silvery part or the black part?
