Say I need a million dollars to start something...

Here's the logic in a nutshell... Nike has proven that you can make money by taking leather, fabric, and rubber and stitching it together. It's PROVEN. Reebok does it too! Therefore, all I need is a million dollars and then I can do it too!

Don't see how this could possible fail.

Who is that woman?

Actually, there were a couple guys from I believe 'Michigan' in Fort Worth, Texas that did just that a few years ago. These guys stayed in the hotel that a buddy of mine runs in downtown FTW for a year. They were in the oil exploration business etc.. If I remember it was a group of 4-5 guys that mortgaged their homes, got loans from their parents, friends etc.. Numbers are a little fuzzy but they ended up scratching somewhere around $10-20mil together.

Then they went to the area west of Fort Worth and bought all the individual oil leases up they could get. Consolidating all the different field into one big area. This took them over a year of brutally hard work negotiating etc. etc. etc.. All of those guys were blue collar and just avg. joes but TONS of experience in the oil exploration business. They bet EVERYTHING they had on RED.

Well, their bet paid off when they flipped that large consolidated area and sold it to XTO Energy for around $800 million!!!!

Ha! Just found the announcement of the sale: Barnett Shale: XTO spending $800 million for Barnett Shale assets
