Seattle / San Diego / LA / NY / Washington DC / Tampa / Miami

I know you said NC has it in for you, but I've been to the Wilmington area a couple of times and it was great. Very reasonable pricing on houses and apt's, beach, great weather, good mix of southern and northern people. I'm seriously considering relocating there myself. I personally want a beach area as well, and while there are some nice Florida towns there was something about NC that kind of suited me more.

Berto made a point up above about the type of person you are. I live in LA and would fucking rather go to jail for a day than go to Hermosa Beach. It's just not my vibe. Same with PB in San Diego.

That said, spend time thinking about where the type of people you want to be around. That's my advice. Don't get so caught up on expenses. My time in NYC was my most affordable due to the fact that I didn't have a fucking oil burner, didn't have to insure my oil burner, didn't have to maintain my oil burner, etc.

Plus I enjoy walking and observing so my exercise was basically leisure. Fuck I miss NYC. (I should almost link to the actresses I got to live with just to let you all know my luck while I was there.)

Anyway... two cents here.
 
Tampa FTW. Great weather. A ton of stuff to do and only a few hours from Miami, an hour from Orlando and has 3 major sports teams.
 
From the places you listed I would choose Clearwater or Palm Harbor (on the beach across from Tampa).

Low cost of living
NO INCOME TAX
Great Weather
Beach
Major metropolitan area
Great highway access and you can fly anywhere in the world through Orlando or within the U.S. from Tampa.

Have I said no income tax yet?
 
I don't know how you make your income, but didn't California recently pass some new affiliate marketing laws? Just something to keep in mind I guess.
 
I am already doing research online and my plan is to narrow it down to two places and go visit them for a week. I am pretty much looking for somewhere close to the beach, avoiding snow and a fun night life.

As far as I can remember San Diego's public nightlife closes at 2 AM .. So there will be not much fun over there :) (I think the whole california state is like that)
Anyway, San Diego is one of the best locations when it's about west coast lifestyle ;)

When it's about nightlife I would recommend Chicago. A friend of mine told me that Key West and Orlando (FL) are very nice places to live but Ive never been there.

NY.. To me just a travel spot. I don't want to live there :)

I just read the night life part. Miami has the best nightlife in the states besides Vegas since there is no time limit and so many clubs, the male to female ratio is amazing too, like 1:2 on a bad night. Also there are so many clubs and the day life is awesome, beach, scuba, biking, everglades, parachuting, EVERYTHING.

You're just going to have to learn a bit of Spanish if you really want to fit in unless you move to Orlando which is more laidback than Miami and English is 1st language, I've never seen the Orlando nightlife I heard it's good especially near UCF a shitload of hot college chicks. Just move to FL, chicks wear skirts year around and it's close to the Caribbean.

Yes, the bars close early in CA. And you know what? I love it. First off, if you're chasing tail and you don't have anything quality lined up before 1AM, it most likely ain't gonna happen at 3:30AM in some crazy chicago bar either - or it won't be quality.

Second, I'm a morning person and even though I'm a Libertarian, I don't mind the government telling me to go to bed so I can wake up and get in the water at a reasonable hour the next day.

I guess this also officially serves as my "I'm getting old" post.
