Recognize that the world is a silly place filled with silly people (and I mean uptight people with sticks up their asses). Sometimes it's easy to lose perspective because of the crap on TV and in the news. There is no reason to go through life hating on things. Of course, you need to stand up for yourself at the same time. All-in-all, it's not worth sweating over the small stuff. Ultimately, I think it's mostly about being happy, do unto others, etc etc, so on and so forth.

Oh and don't worry about the universe, we'll likely never find out how big it is.
