Hi all - first post here. Hard to believe I've been a registered user here in WF since 2007 and this is the first time I've said anything...lol!
Regardless, I feel the need to put in my 2 cents about SERPbook.
Since Market Samurai bit the big one and no longer is efficient for rank tracking, I have been on a 'round the net mission to find a new rank tracker.
I've tested a bunch - and so far, it appears that SERPbook will be the one I will stick with.
I do a lot of things online which means I have to keep up with the rankings for a lot of projects. I do work for clients, I have a good bit of my own sites and micro sites, I have my own link/indexing network, etc.
SERPbook allows me to break all those projects down into individual categories which is awesome for me.
I also love how the rankings are automatically checked every hour or so. No more having to open a project and manually click to update rank anytime I want to see it (like I had to do with MS).
I also really like the clean, white interface. I like simple - and when you're looking at stats, all I really want to see are the facts and no other garbage to boggle my brain.
Very happy to see a rank checking program that allows multiple domains in one campaign as opposed to each domain being a separate campaign.
For example, say you have a bunch of little domains all working in the same market. With SERPbook you can track all those domains in one campaign and see at a glance how they are doing or if any site needs attention (as opposed to opening each campaign up and looking at them one by one).
Accuracy seems to be pretty good. I still have a lot of my other test rank checking programs running and SERPbook seems to be right in line with the others.
Pricing is competitive - maybe a tad high - but for one program that meets all my needs, I'm fine with it being a little more expensive than "the rest" when it's better than the rest.
All in all, "as is" works for me and is a really good product.
I do have some suggestions/requests tho.
1. I also have to keep an eye on many "free" web pages and would like the ability to track at the url level - not just root domain level.
For example, say you have a bunch of EzineArticles that you want to keep an eye on. As SERPbook is now, it only checks the ezinearticles.com domain for any page on the site that ranks for a designated keyword phrase.
I'd like to be able to keep an eye on MY article/url on the site...not just see which article/url ranks the best. Does that make sense?
2. I'd LOVE to see the exact match estimated search volume for each keyword listed next to it - that would be awesome.
I don't know about y'all, but it's sometimes tough to remember which keyword is THE most important when you have a ton of sites. Having est search volume right next to the keyword would be really helpful for me.
3. Back links reporting.
It appears that SERPbook uses majestic to get back link info. I'd really like to see a rank checking tool start using aHrefs for this info. They are really super and find new links (and lost links) really, really quickly. You can literally blast some links and the new links will show in ahrefs every hour. To me, it's more helpful (I'd also like to see back links reflected for the page that is ranking, not just the root domain - ahrefs can totally do that).
Ahrefs has an api and has some really great tools. For example, want to know all the phrases a competitor url ranks for? Just pop their url into into Ahrefs SERP analysis and you'll get some amazing intel.
I've been waiting and waiting for a rank checking program to start using ahrefs - it's pretty awesome.
Overall, as I said, I am quite pleased with how SERPbook works "as is", but the three above enhancements would make it a dream rank checking tool for me and my business.
Thanks for creating an awesome product that this industry really needs.
