Have run a quick search but didn't seem to be a clear answer on this.

Any reason why Ahrefs would be showing a keyword ranking of 15 while Serpfox shows the same keyword at 44?

IceToEskimos actually asked this in a previous thread (specifically asked about Serpfox vs SeScout), but the thread ended up heading in a different direction - namely, why SeScout was shit and other serp trackers were better.

Anyway, any info would be appreciated.

Quite simple... they use the shitty google webmaster tools api that sucks and never gives true results... some are not scraped from local search engines, some are, some use api and some use scrapers.... scraping data from google and the likes is an art now days and takes allot more that a huge company cannot get keyword data en masse.

Right - thanks for the responses guys.
Guess I will refer back to IceToEskimos thread after all re:serptrackers then!

Ive been using SERPFOX and its pretty close, sometimes off by 1-3 positions but it does not take google places into account...

Compared to ahrefs? We've never had any complaints of this type. If you are keen to share more details I'd be happy to look into it.

I don't notice this problem when the KW is ranking well- say in the top 30 results, but I find wild discrepancies with what SF reports if the KW is ranked from 50-150. May just be an isolated incident, as I've only used the program for 1 project.
