I recently switched from shared hosting to Dedicated Hosting. Now any new domains I create arent resolving. I put in a help ticket with the hosting company and they told me I need to setup the DNS on the new server.

I'm not all that great with linux. I guess there is a name.conf file maybe? Anybody know how to setup dns on a linux box.

check around for something called bind. I'm pretty sure that's what they are talking about.

Shouldn't my host be able to do this for me?

When I was paying them $300 a year the support was great, now I am paying $1500 and I get shitty email answers like this:

This may be so, however, things are different now - you have moved to a dedicated server. This is your own box and that box doesn't know that you previously used ns1.csswv.com and ns2.csswv.com. With that said, the system doesn't know how to handle them. Going back to what Nick said, this is why you need to set them up on your box as custom nameservers. Then and only then, will your dedicated server recognize them as being valid. Let us know if you have any further questions.

Great so I have to set them up as customer name servers, how the fuck do I do that?
