I'm not sure about where you are, but in a lot of places they segregate cellies. If you smashed a guy that's not white do not tell them you're racist. If it was a white guy you can tell them you're racist and they'll segregate you. Worst case you might end up being in a cell 24 hours a day (being let out for a couple hours a week to shower and get mail for your house), but it'll be better than being in a cell with a black guy. Best case they just give you a white celly and stick you in a normal pod. Because you committed a violent crime you might end up in the 24 hour lock up anyhow.
If you're looking for a table to sit down and eat at look for a group of white guys. If you see some with 88 or similar tattoos try to sit with them. Regardless of where you sit ask before you sit down. The seat might be reserved for someone else and not asking is a sign of disrespect. Don't ever go into someone else's house (cell) with out asking, because you'll end up getting fucked off if you do. When you're taking a shit flush it as soon as it drops out of your ass, because it'll help it not stink up the cell as bad. If you don't you're going to piss your celly off. I could go on for a while, but that's some basic edict. I think you're smart enough to figure how anything else your self.
Mind your own business and don't be a douche bag and you'll be fine. The good thing is most people don't politic in county jails.

If you do end up doing some time and have to do somethings. Make sure you're not a torpedo. You seem smart enough to avoid that though. There's also a big difference between being racist on the street and being racist in jail. Even if the two often overlap.

That depends, if he beat the guy down not in self defense, it can be considered assault with intent to do great bodily harm (or something to that effect).

I just got back from the gun show, but was a bit amped yet under the influence last night when i posted that. Smashed; I meant fucked up (not as in a car). I'd put money on him not getting a felony. He owns several legal handguns so he doesn't have a felony conviction. His lawyer will play up successful small business owner doing more good for the community than this offense hurt it. If he's smart he'll also hire a lawyer that use to be judge for the court he'll be going to. The combination above will be enough for a misdemeanor plea that will include a crap load of fines, community service, and a most a month in jail (to teach him a lesson). If he minds his ps and qs in jail he'll get out in 2 and a half 3 weeks so they can make room for real fuck ups. No way will the judge give him flat time. If he wants to not bail out he can stay in jail on his own accord for a month then bond out. His lawyer will point out he felt like he needed to be punished, because he truly felt remorse for hurting the "victim" so instead of bonding out he stayed in jail for a month. Then at sentencing the DA will offer a plea that has jail time, community service, and fines. He'll get credit for time served and the DA gets to add notches to their belt so they can brag about it. Because, in their eyes they "won".

well agreed crackp0t, I was hit with a felony actually 5 years back for something related to brass knuckles. My attorney got it knocked down to a mr meanor plus $1,000+ in fines. So I kept my gun laws, lol. Even if they took em tho, ill just buy my family members alotta guns lol.
