Serious question, Why is Greenland so high?

It's because there's less than 60,000 people in the entire territory. If you get a year with more than a few murders the rate per 100,000 people skyrockets. I'd be willing to bet that there also also some years where it's rated as one of the safest countries.

They have individual years where the rate is low, but the overall average for multiple years is still higher than many would suspect it to be.

Greenland is the closest country to the north pole, so they experience months at a time where on average they have relatively little daily sunlight, and then other months where there is little darkness. Not enough sun can potentially lead to increases in things like depression. Too many daylight hours can make it harder for some to get the sleep they need, which also can have a negative impact on moods, which can then lead to increased alcoholism, etc.

The same applies to Alaska, where crime rates are also higher than many would guess.

Greenland also has extremely high suicide rates :

Why do so many Greenlanders kill themselves?

A declining economy and multicultural demographic makes these incidents more likely to happen in the USA on a per capita basis. That being said, you can't be 100% sure the shit wasn't staged

Doesn't work that way. There are countries w/ WAAAY more people than US and WAY lower rates of gun-related incidents.

There are a grand total of two (2) countries on this planet with more people than the US. India's rate is slightly lower and China's is in all likelihood a figment of the imagination of the PRC leaders. Assuming we're looking at homicides, from what I can tell there are over 100 countries with a higher rate than the US.

Gun control is such a played out topic.

Violence will tone down once the culture evolves to one based on reason and human connection. Straight up. And it all starts within the family.

It's absurd that anyone would blame the symptoms (i.e. senseless shootings) and not the disease.

Then I made my point...the previous post said "only in america" so clearly not only occuring in America.

Also, the U.S. murder rate is quite low compared to the rest of the world. Overall, the US is a safe country compared to the rest of the world.

Ok we'll change it to 'mainly in America'.

If you sort that list by murder rate every single one of the countries above America is a country that you would EXPECT to have a higher murder rate than America.

Unless I'm blind and missing one off, EVERY single developed western country on that list is a safer place to live in than America (going by murder rates).

Safer places than America according to this list include Cambodia, Niger, Palestine, Yemen, Georgia, Albania, Turkey and Afghanistan.

Just saying, you can't really use this list in your defence.

Well, it depends on how you are defining "developed western country." Russia, Brazil, Mexico, Bermuda, Bahamas..

Venezuela is 4th, but they have a subway system, skyscrapers, and average incomes higher than in the majority of countries,

One of the photos showed an LAPD officer standing next to, what looked like, an AR15 on the ground in the terminal. So this will be a perfect opportunity for California to take away what already limited gun rights we still have in regards to semi-automatic rifles.

Because we all know it's so much easier for a crazed asshole like this guy to conceal an AR in a duffle bag and walk into a crowded area than it is for him to put a couple handgun's in his pocket. Ban AR's and this kind of thing won't happen. Yeah right.

That said, since he was apparently targeting TSA agents, he was obviously the subject of an overly aggressive search at an airport security checkpoint. Probably got his junk touched and held a serious grudge.

Woah buddy, being a little rational aren't we?

BAN GUNS!!!
