Hi there,

I've had this site for about six years now. It has always been purple, although it hasn't looked as it looks now. Anyway, I've kept receiving now and then suggestions about the purple background of the site. People either don't get people can design a non-white website or tend to attribute certain meanings to certain colours... well, you get it.

So I'm asking for some feedback now. I ask you to visit the site and drop your impression about the feel and look this site does. If you can drop a few suggestions on how to improve it, I'll appreciate it.

So far, I've focused on SEO, fast loading, a design that may work well for screens, mobile browsers and printers... I want to take a look at the user experience now.

I'll pay the favour with a few good boobs, for sure... but from home. I'm at the office now.

Thanks buddies.

you got a clear sequence of action once your user arrives at your site ? or are you just trying to reduce bounce rate

if there is a clear action, id just do gwo and rotate your bgcolors and see what works

That purple is pretty bright to be reading off of. I'm not personally against light text on a dark background but in this case it's too saturated and bright. I would tone it down and darken it a bit.

It's been said, in just about every usability study ever done, that light text on a dark background is more difficult to read by a significant margin than dark on light. If you do go this route it is a good idea to increase the size and boldness of the font for legibility sake. You've mostly covered this aspect already, your text is a pretty good size, so I would just turn down the brightness and saturation of that purple.

Of course if you want to improve the usability of your site for the benefit of the maximum number of your visitors, dark text on a light background is the way to go most of the time. You could still use a purple background around the content, or a purple side bar, but the main body would be white.

In my opinion of course.

Trying to reduce bounce rate. It's gotten up to 80% a few times!

OK, thanks. I'll try to darken the colour this weekend in the CSS files.

It is pretty hard on the eyes. I remember someone posting a color scheme tool a while back kuler
its pretty cool and should give you some ideas. The other thing I noticed was you have to go at least 2 pages deep to get to your content, try putting some more "meat" on your home page and you will see improvement with your bounce rate. Good luck to you

You should consider keeping the purple but only on the sides. Make the center area where your text is all white.

People like to read in the way they are used to.

If I land on a page that has an annoying color, I simply close it.

I'll make a test: As it seems, darkening the background could be tried first; although I don't like white, maybe I can come up with a paper-style background and see what happens.

So far, thanks amigos.

Well, I tested a darker background for a week, but it didn't work. I'm trying a paper background with purple characters now. I think it looks fine. What do you say?

I think its very readable with your new color scheme. If it were my site I would try to add a few images on the home page, even if its just a few small thumbnails.

I have checked your site, nice experience from there. Color is a visual reinforcer. I think that site color is really traditional color and i like it.

Thank you. If you don't mind giving some feedback... What do you think about readability?

The purple color is hard to read .I recommend you to use some color tools.even black is not suitable for your back ground and i don't recommend white there.Just use the color tools and change the color.
