Should I Get A Netbook?

Check out the msi wind - 15+ hr battery life ... friend's got one and swears by it

(runs linux easy)

Just get a light 14 inch notebook. Asus makes some good ones.

As for the Ipad... well just google 'ipad sucks' and you'll learn a few things.

Get BOTH !!!

I have a netbook and mobile wireless that allows me to do work while being driven down hwy 1 (awesome view) THEN
Have a large laptop 17" dual core for doing work in the hotel at night.

IF, you aredoing lots of traveling and need to check NOT work on your campaigns I can not say enough good things about ASUS new dual-core netbook from amazon/bestbuy/ etc/ They JUST released JAN 10 th 2010. It saved my $$$$$ while at ASW2010 being able to check and tweak campaigns while 2 blocks from my hotel.

I did miss having a large screen and faster processor for work at night, BUT damn glad I was not lugging that on my shoulder in the confernce or the airport.

IMHO
p.s. HP & ACER suck.. Toshiba and ASUS are tested best betbook.

This. 100%.

My AUSU is great. But I don't like to sit and do any real serious work on it. It works if I need it too, but it's frustrating because it's slower and the small screen drives me nuts. Though my GF is running a successful blog using one. So, it's a give and take. If you have the patience of a saint, it can work well.

I had one. Past tense. Hated it with a passion. My wife hated it. Even my kid hated it. Slow as freaking molasses. So I sent it to my nephew, who didn't have a computer.

It was an Asus. I'd rather lug a bigger machine around and have the performance than use another netbook.

Checkout BenQ Joybook.. 10 inch, 250GB, 2GB, Atom Processor just about $320! Really cool!

If you can't fit it in your pocket, might as well get something you can actually work on.

I have one collecting dust in a closet somewhere.

Honestly, i would just go to the store and play with both. there's a lot of hate for netbooks (because people don't realize what they are for). I love my netbook - but i didn't buy it to design websites, edit videos, or sit on it all day, and also, with basic internet browsing, i cannot tell its "slower". I have an acer aspire one with 2gb of ram. So yeah, just go to the store and test some out.
