I'm starting to see these pop up on sites more and more. I'm not sure I completely see the point of them. What's the appeal to these over regular comments?
 


are they actual human comments in the shoutbox? or "comments" from "users"? this could be to "comply with" impending ftc guidelines per user testimonials ("look what other assholes are saying in REAL TIME!"). not sure how legally sound a tactic that'll prove to be come december, but gl, hf.
 
I don't know, some of them do look spammy but like I said, I'm not seeing the difference between the shoutbox and regular spammy comments. Yet it just seems to be picking up steam. Which is why I was wondering what I'm missing. The ftc thing is an interesting thought.
