Show me your puppies...

The most important thing is to get a dog that matches your personality and lifestyle, as opposed to getting one that "looks a certain way". So many people do that and then the dog ends up at the pound. If you are lazy by nature, don't get a golden retriever ...

If you want one with a little personality but you don't mind smaller dogs, when I had her my puggle was an interesting little pup.

Really wanted to figure out how things worked, not just play with them.

A buddy of mine has a Cockerpug that looks a lot like this. Smart dog and capable for it's size.

That Munsterlander is a really good looking dog, does it have any behavior quirks?

I don't own a dog currently, but if I ever got a dog I would go for a Hungarian pointing dog. They are fun, smart, loyal, and easy to keep clean (even in the winter time). Could go on with the praise, but you get my drift

Here is a picture I found about this beautiful dog:

Boxer/German Shepherd mix...couldn't ask for a better dog. That pic was a few months ago, she's the same height but quite a bit thicker now.

This is Sascha...she's a smart ass dog and just generally amazing

Border Collie and Lab Mix. Smart as hell with more energy than you could ever have.

All dressed up for the 'Cats game. This was when she was about 4 months, she's 8 months now.

I don't have a dog right now, but my parents still have the cavalier spaniels they had when I lived with them.

They're cute, but I don't really like dogs that could get their asses kicked by ly2's cat.
