Signing up for Adwords, LookSmart, etc...

I started to sign up for Adwords, LookSmart, etc. - I know this is a dumb question, but why the fuck do they ask you for a domain, keywords, etc. when you are first signing up? I would have thought it was more like 7search, where you sign up, create an account, and then add sites.

Should I give one of my arb sites as the site - or is this sort of a filter they use to weed out accounts like that? I have a drop-ship site I am almost finished with - would that be better to enter at first? The only problem is that it isn't ready yet and I want to use the coupons.

Not really sure since its been years since I set up my Adwords site, but try using your drop-ship site to be safe. You don't even need to do anything that will get traffic, bid for some string of made up words putting it in quotes for exact match.

In adwords, you can just pause the initial ad until you are ready to turn it on.
