Recently I had few sites hit my Google updates for various reasons. So I have been researching some more organic and sustainable traffic generation methods that honestly I should have been looking into long ago. So while many of you may know about these simple tools I thought I would share a way to get a quick boost in traffic from Twitter for those who may not know.
The process is very simple.
1. Register at twitterfeed.com : feed your blog to twitter it is free.
2. Add your blog's rss feed and then decide how often you want your posts tweeted. If you have alot of posts you can set it to tweet a different post several times a day.
3. Wait a few days for your tweets to run
4. Register at Twitterscribe / Archive your tweets. again free.
5. Download a list of past tweets from your account, up to the last 3200. Use that list of tweets and get them retweeted from other accounts or do I what I did and blast a bunch of Shawnhag's trackbacks at them.
I realize this is not revolutionary by any means, but for about 5 minutes work I got a steady increase in traffic over the next week. I would estimate about 25-30% or possibly more. I have to dive into the analytics a litte further.
