Six-Figure Hustlers...

+1

That psycho-babble crap is retarded. A few studies even show it has either zero or negative benefit compared to doing nothing.

BTW, since when is being a hooker thinking out of the box? Hustling, well yeah, but they call it the oldest profession for a reason.

I would much prefer someone to talk a psychiatrist's ear off about their problems than to load it all off on me.

I'm also positive it depends on the person. When I have a problem, I prefer to deal with it head on and get right to the solution, rather than to talk or complain about it. Other people are the opposite, they for whatever reason, cannot relax or regroup and start on a solution to a crisis without complaining about it. I guess they have to say everything out loud to organize it in their heads.

On being a hooker, are you comparing that to anyone who takes on a job for someone else in exchange for money? Or am I completely missing the point?

Interesting how many of you are so hostile towards what other people choose to do with their lives.

I think what he meant was how is it out of the box? How is it hustling? Why is it on CNN? "Message therapists" are there like everywhere. She gets paid so much either because she is really freakin good. Or she provides "special" services.

Definitely sound like an escort to me. Also hasnt Message therapist always been a perfect cover for it?

Fiver is right on real estate agents. so many of them are marginally retarded. i was looking at a house across the water from the house i eventually bought. i was with a real estate agent and i saw the for sale sign and was like "i wanna look at that one". after we left the first house, she FORGOT that i wanted to look at the house i ended up buying and turned the other way towards her office. i guess it clicked eventually, because my wife and i found the house completely wide open and just walked in and 20 minutes after being there, she showed up and started acting like Vanna White and shit. turns out it was listed by someone in her same office. she was SO PISSED that we made an offer without an agent (her) but fuck that. just because these hobbits have a magic key they get 3 to 6 % of a six figure sale? with zillow, why do i need her?

Haters gunna hate. How many people commenting in this thread make 6 figures?

i've gotta agree with guerilla on this one. how is any of this different than what the ballers on WF are doing? so much of affiliate marketing is selling a dream to losers with spare cash that feel good about buying something. when someone does that online everyone's like "oooh bro, how'd you do that?" as if you wouldn't sign up for a life coaching appointment making CPA deal..oh fuck...i have work to do.

Honestly this was just article that should have never seen the light of day.

Really a window washer ? A truck driver ?
All of these are really weak stories.
I can see how a window washer could make six figures, and the considerable balls it takes to do the job. How many of us have the cojones to pull ourselves up 30 stories with a rope, and wash windows with a big squeegee while standing on a platform?

The truck driver is an example of a smart hustler who entered a business that was saturated with competition — thereby driving his pay down. After tolerating the low salary for a while, he recognized a higher paying sub-niche and chased that money.

It's the same as what doctors do, such as returning to school for microsurgery after being a general practitioner. Or working as a bulk content writer on the cheap, then specializing in sales page content because it's more challenging and pays more. :rasta:

Interesting how in consecutive posts you agree both with a hater and the person calling them out.

And your example of a bad agent isn't enough to indict an entire group.

When we purchased our current house, there was a bad agent on the sellers side and our awesome agent. We worked her ass off, and so I believe she earned her commission.
Since the bar to become a real estate agent is relatively low, the agents that make six figures do indeed work their asses of, especially in this housing market. Just like IM, the ones that don't work or do a piss-poor job for clients don't usually make it into the top earners club.

Meant to add into our most recent purchase scenario: The bad agent on the seller's side nearly lost her shit when, during a meeting with the sellers, both agents and a home inspector, we divulged that we would be financing through a different bank than the one who wrote the approval letter for higher than the amount of the house we offered on.
Since I've had a bit of experience in real-estate, I could only conclude that we were one of the handful of sales she'd get that year, and she had already counted the commission she'd receive and was apparently afraid that we wouldn't get a deal with a new bank.

From: Real Estate Salaries, Franchises and Statistics
While absolute numbers are hard to come by, commission rates appeared to have decreased 16 percent from 1991 to 2004. In spite of improving splits from their offices, agents are faced with a rising numbers of referral fees, affinity fees, or the necessity to pay for benefits such as home warranties or closing costs. The typical income of Realtors (sales associates and brokers) fell from $52,000 in 2002 to 49,300 in 2004. The income of sales associates alone decreased from $41,600 to $38,300. During that two year period NAR experienced a membership gain of 26 percent which probably goes a long way toward explaining the drop in individual average income.
The salaries of the typical Realtor in 2004 were less than $50,000. Compare this, if you will, with the following average incomes:
Engineer $ 70,300
Financial services/sales $ 62,000
Real estate sales $ 49,300
Auto sales $ 47,670
Elementary school teacher $ 40,300
Nurse $ 43,661
Not overpaid by a long shot.

life coach = fail. thats what dads, friends and mentors are for. paying someone for advice means you have 0 friends.

"oh how do i go about asking my boss for a raise"

"im in a situation where i can make more money but..."

grow some fucking balls or go get an AA sponsor or someshit bleh happy labor day folks

i agree

we all need support, no matter how strong or confident you think you are. the best support you can get is from family and friends because they'll always be there for you (well, most of the time...). paying someone to make you feel better just doesn't feel right.

A couple of these - window washer, truck driver, and life coach come to mind - seem like they're not subtracting expenses and are also neglecting to calculate a true hourly while they work 80 hr weeks.

Since when is being a trucker considered being a hustler?

Many truck drivers are independent contractors and have to find their own work and negotiate. They also own their rig and pay for expenses out of pocket. I'd call them hustlers.

while I couldn't see myself hiring one, I can see why it might be worth it to some people still.

some people just can't relate to their families and friends on business stuff, a lot of people are stuck in the mindset that you need a boss, you need a job, so the only thing you can expect from anyone when trying to vent about business issues is "well, sorry its not working out, have you put in any applications anywhere?" even if your just talking about a minor work issue.

and in a competitive business, you can't discuss business with anyone in a similar business, if there's a chance they might just be trying to pry ideas and business secrets from you.

if you absolutely have to talk to someone to vent, it could be a nice load off your shoulders to just pay someone as kind of a "business therapist" who can actually (even if they are just bullshitting) offer advice that may make sense to you, even if they have no idea what they are talking about.

isn't that kind of what a consigliere's role is? they get paid to give their opinions and advice, on things the boss can't talk to anyone else about.

Real estate agents are so fucking overpaid.

amen.

im in the process of considering selling my home, and rather than interview/hire an agent, ive been going and seeing properties i like by calling the listing agent. it gives me some perspective on how they handle clients etc, and also, if i like them and like the home, there will be an opportunity to get a better deal since the agent will likely give up some of their comission when they double end the deal.

so far ive met about 12 agents and holy fuck they're useless. especially the ones that have been doing it for a long time. god damn theyre so shitty....brings me into the kitchen: "here's the kitchen". no shit.
