Just wondering who has tried the sykpe 30$ a year deal?
How is the quality say for a everyday phone ? That includes a phone number?

anyway thanks for any input.

more i read on skype to make calls out is fine but to recieve calls you have to pay more for a number..vonage is more cost effective.

I used Skype back when they were running the free trial and it was pretty good. Some people complained they couldn't hear me well, but I really think that was because of my microphone.

Why are people so accepting with paying for VOIP suddenly? Aren't there tons of free places with awesome qualiuty both on inbound and outbound calls to choose from?

Vonage is a piece of shit from what I've heard, and their fees are dumb. Skype, well, not much to say there.. ebay owns it. No surprise that they have extra fees tacked onto it.. Gotta pay back that investment somehow or another!

I've been using skype in and skype out for over a year and half. The quality is totally fine and if I forward it (I have to pay outgoing calls) to my cellphone then the quality is just like any other service.

And no, there is no phone with it. It is just skype software.

the thing is.. i dont know it but i think you mean the free call thingy... you pay amount x and get free calls to landlines for x month.
but its a trick, you dont have to pay for every minute but you have to pay one time for each etablished connection... that sucks.

better choose voipbuster.com

;)

Yeah, I'm using one of voipbusters many other sites (voipcheap or something?) with a VOIP box and I'm paying something like 10€ every 6 months, and the voice quality is superb.

DO IT YOURSELF

:yin-yang: Paying for VoIP BLOWS! Newbies don't got a clue about doing it themselves from equipment to setup. It's a major niche with all the hits the industry's taking and it seems that more companies are converting on private labels. I have a hardware affiliate program if you want to put some time in to educate the industry newbies.

if your going to use it i would recommend a good microphone. but yet you can find a good voip service. don't know if you want to go to your PC everytime your phone rings

I have a dell laptop with Bluetooth capability, so you can actually talk on skype and walk around with no wires. And most of time, no one can tell I'm using VOIP.

I bought skypeout for a bonus price of $15 for a year of outgoing calls a few months back - I use the dualphone 2-in-1 cordless Skype internet telephone – Internet telephony via Skype and ordinary telephony via DECT that has an external headset plug. I have had 2-3 days when the service was less than perfect out of 3-4 months using it - seriously thinking about canceling my cell phone as I barely use it anymore cause I'd rather use voip. I would suggest that if you are thinking about trying it that you go ahead and invest in a wireless phone so you aren't just tied down to taking calls at your computer.

I have used Skype before and it works great. Talking to Indians is rather difficult. I have a lot of GrandCentral accounts for every major city in the US. I think it's about 20 cities total. Please PM me if anyone is interested in purchasing these accounts. I don't use them anymore. They are great for putting a number on a website so a visitor can call in and conclude that the site is legit, or any other marketing purpose.
