sleep number bed sucks balls

As a former mattress salesman, I can confidently say that there is not, nor ever has been anything that compares to Stearns & Foster when it comes to quality, durability and comfort. They have a lifetime warranty on them, they never dip, sag, or breakdown etc in any noticeable way.

We used to pull people's used beds out of their houses when we would deliver their new beds (sold most brands), and you could see how the other brands held up after years of use. You can really see how good a bed is when you're pulling it out of a home after 15 years of use. In the 2 years I worked there selling and delivering, we never took a Stearns & Foster away - they would always have us put them in a guest room or take them to their kids house or whatever. Other brands would be tossed about 90% of the time. If you've got an extra $3k-$4k to spend on your next bed, do yourself a favor and get one of their high end models.

thanks for the replies.

yea, its interesting how easy it would be to buy a cheap mattress, and then add your own cushion top to it..:>

i might try a tempurpedic since I'm apparently fond of gimmicks.

i like this like 1985 mattress in this old camper parked in my yard better than any bed I have..

You spend 1/3 of you day sleeping so don't go cheap!

I love my bed, memory foam and other stuff, no idea what the hells in it but it's comfy, doesn't squeek and the girls compliment it so that's the main thing..

This is how you get comfort. Get a cheap hard ass regular bed (firm or extra firm) then get a foam topper for it. 4" should do it. So long as you're not too heavy, your ass shouldn't hit the hard bed at night and it will be a wonderful experience. If you're too heavy though or if you skimp on the topper (the topper should be more then the bed was), it's not going to be a good experience. And to the OP, congrats. You just paid shitloads of money for an air bed that you could have got for $50 at WalMart. Wanna adjust the "firmness?" Let some air out. It must feel like camping every day at your house.

This. I sleep on a 4" topper on the floor. It's very comfortable.
