they're a good idea until you feel the shame cleaning it out in the same sink you use to wash the dishes you eat from. definitely not the coolest shit i've done...

anyways, i'd save your money. i live in a bare ass apartment and try to stray away from materialistic purchases. i'd rather go out to eat everyday. that's just me. if i see something i like in a store, i immediately leave. if i'm still thinking about it a week later, i'll go back and buy it. that little method has helped me avoid the regret of impluse buys.

I just set revenue goals...if I hit it, I reward myself. Keeps me working. At the same time it's important to spend your $$$ on your needs before your wants. Take care of your credit card debt, build a sizable emergency fund, max Roth/401k, etc. first before spending $ on toys.

agree. I need to set profit goals. Revenue goals have turned out to be counter-productive for me since I sometimes forget about the ROI.

I want this - Usually I'd just buy it and not give it another thought, but now with a baby on the way I'm feeling the pressure not to give into my materialistic needs so much...

So instead, I'm thinking of justifying the purchase only when I can attain the $ in ways I normally wouldn't have.. Like sucking peni.. I mean, discovering new sources of traffic, markets, etc..

Who operates similarly? Do you spend and just not give a shit or do you use it as motivation to make money in new ways?
