If this is your first dog, be prepared for a lot of frustrating times (lot of great times, too). You'll need to clean up his messes, let him out at odd hours, and teach him to lay off chewing your stuff.

Also, German Shepherds can be very energetic, hyper even if they don't get enough stimulation.

The good news is that the time you invest during the first several months pays off in spades when he's an adult.
