So I bought a dog...

Ah fuck you man. Getting a dog is honestly one of the best feelings. For german shepards as most people here have no fucking clue, be careful of the hind legs, german shepards are prone to having issues with that. That can easily run you a $30k bill later on if you do the surgery. Basically, when you are teaching it to sit, don't push down on the back legs and you will be fine. I live on a island so we used to take ours swimming a bunch which help its legs. But if you can't no worries. Honestly, be careful about it getting protective, mine got super protective... just make sure equal playing time between everyone in the family and you are good. As for the ears, it's no big deal plus you can't tell right away, only in a aggressive mode can you really know. Anyways fuck my writing has improved...Let me know how it goes. Not to be a homo, but I love dogs, so if you have any questions let me know....Ive had way too many dogs in my life time..

Back in Siberia i had a dog. It went missing, two months later I found its dead body frozen in the snow, its was skinned neck down. Fuckers. I think this is why I become an asshole. I miss you bacha.

After 8 months, now, of owning my dog I can tell you: I was prepared for the added work I was not prepared for the added emotional factor. Dogs are seriously like little people. Infact, mine is very much like my 3 year old. The sheer emotional needyness of dogs can be a little much at times, especially for an introvert like me. If you find yourself wanting to scream: WHY DO YOU KEEP STARING AT ME LIKE THAT, I HAVE TO WORK SOME TIME!!! Know that this is normal.

Usually she wants 1 of 3 things. A treat. Go outside. Or her blanket put where she can lay on it.
 
Awesome dog you got!

They are smart.
They need regular exercise.
They need a job, watching kids, the house, god forbid the cats.
They need to be trained.

I had an older book about German shepherds that covered all this and things like training them to only take food from certain people, etc. Look through a library or contact the AKC for recommendations. See German shepherd club of America
