I've done similar, and it is tedious shit but can work... Problem is, it still doesn't pay me on the spot. haha

I guess, in a way, I am asking a question that everyone tries to ask, but it's hard to figure out how to say it...

What can you do to get paid instantly or within a few days online aside from services?

Maybe there isn't anything... But I figure fuck, it would be nice to know once and for all.

You could always sell your body. No, I'm kidding. :D I've never had financial troubles so I probably can't recommend solid advice, but I would recommend turning off your cell phone bill, buying enough top ramen to last for two weeks, assuming you'd consume one package a day, sell whatever you own that may have value, stay inside and concentrate on making a profit (so don't drive anywhere, then you won't waste money on gas) and if you do decide to go somewhere: WALK, etc.


Also, I have had friends who have contacted church organizations asking for assistance with bills, but this is here in Vegas.

Lastly, although I really hate to suggest it: apply for government assistance. Although, it may suck, you have got to do what you have got to do. ( I hope you are not offended by this suggestion, but just remember it is an option )

Yes, because I am not healthy, but also because I have seen how medical bills can really, really soar in a short timeframe.

And phreon.. all said and done, educate yourself on personal finance.

You have been born into a poor family, but you don't have to stay poor if you educate yourself. Shit is actually pretty easy.

I had to do that myself, not because my family was/is poor, but because no one in my family has any idea about money management.

You are unfortunately right and at least most of you guys live in the US or in a country with a decent health care system. In my case, going abroad for my mother's surgery and treatment was the only responsible decision which could be made.

And the thing is, even though my parents have contributed to the health care system for like 20 years or so each, we won't even see a dollar and have to raise like 40k to 50k within a few months. And that in a country where the average wage is $300 or so/month.

I thought I was doing good with AM before but now I'm only making like $50/day profit-wise. I could try to scale a little again (I wasn't making anything like a steady $1k daily before but at least I made considerably more than 50 bucks/day) but I would be putting too much at risk because I cannot afford to have a lot of money tied up anywhere atm (I need a lot of money every 3 weeks so that would make things almost impossible).

I did manage to set $15k or so aside this year but that was barely enough to pay for the surgery and some expenses, so now I have to raise money without risking a lot of money - a very complicated situation.

I've started writing again (it's been over a year since I've written anything for money) and so far that's bringing me an additional $100/day. I am ready to work 10 hours or more/day so hopefully I can do even better than that because the treatment will cost $5k every 3 weeks for 6 sessions and then about $10k or so for a final session.

Be confident in yourself, don't be lazy and everything else will follow, that's the only advice I can give you. Even if things may seem desperate, don't feel sorry for yourself because that's not going to make you any money. Instead, focus on finding solutions and I'm sure you'll manage to get back on track.

Right this second, I have tethered my cell phone to my laptop and I am using the internet on my phone to get online from my computer. Internet got shut off last night (roommate, once again) and he is still at work and thus "too busy to call them until I get home tonight"... This is the second time this month... Between that and the dog, I can't believe he has no idea why Im late on rent! haha

I technically have insurance, but it's an HMO in California and I am in AZ now. Like I've said before, a few bad decisions in the past got me in trouble and while I'm close to being done with it (2 weeks left if I pay the rest of my payments), and until then I can't leave the state, thus I can't see my doc.

I'm sorry about the med situation man, and I hope everything works out for your mom. My mom and grandma are both in real bad shape (both handicapped; hit my a drunk driver 20 years ago), so I understand completely how much the med system and med bills suck.

And I do my best not to feel sorry for myself, and I am getting better at realizing that for the MOST part, I cause or allow the bad shit that happens to me. It's real eye opening, and I've become honest with myself now. No excuses, just being honest with myself helps me a lot :)
 
Erm... if you're flat out with work and can't manage any more hours in the day....

Put your prices up. You seem to have a decent rep here as a writer, and I'm guessing most people will probably pay a little more for reliable, quality work. IF you stay reliable.

Yes, you'll worry about losing clients if you riase prices, but I can tell you that getting overworked and then starting to drop the ball and becoming unreliable will kill your business a lot quicker.
 
Very very very true... And good point.

I am already burned out writing... I still do it, and a few people have inquired about projects recently that are on topics I actually enjoy, so that will be very refreshing.

But you're right, in an effort to make writing pay the bills, I am burning myself out quickly and also becoming less reliable in a sense, as I take longer to get projects complete. I also get anal sometimes and want to make sure I'm writing something that people will actually read, so that takes even more time.

I might take your advice.

Or maybe I should just brush up my photoshop skills and start doing LP's or something, content included.
 
I'm going to be offering a special promo real soon for my hosting company that has something to do with press releases... If you can learn how to write them you could charge a lot more than what you charge for an article...

I know you're trying to get some cash flowing right away, but keep in mind that you really need to get away from trading time for money. No one ever gets rich writing content, making graphics, or even spamming over and over. Don't waste your shit on other people!

Put up a site! If you need help, you have tons of people that will have your back. Hell I think I remember writing you a very lengthy set of step-by-step instructions like 6 months ago. Brush em off and DO IT.

Once you have some money coming in, you can start learning PPC. But until then, don't count out a regular site. I just launched one last month that's already getting me 40 bucks a day from organic search results.

That's it. I'm adding you to messenger, fuckface.
