There's more to this then what i'm reading..

This isn't necessarily affilate advertising, this is possibly account hijacking (stealing usernames + password, loggin in them and posting builetins.....)..

There was a few stores about sue'ing for mass spamming on myspace awhile back, but haven't been able to find the links on web pro news...

This is actually good news because myspace is only going after 'spam kings' who rake in millions while letting small time players slip by with just thousands. if myspace starts suing small time spammers then that could be a problem.

Kinda odd tho,
Newscorp (Company that bought Myspace)
hasn't said anything press release (which isn't too strange)
News Corporation

If it was filed on friday it will be another roughly 10 days before you can find the docket on the supreme court pages.

hey,

yeah scott richter is a big big time email spammer. I have been hearing about him for years, doesnt suprise me that he has turned to black hat.

They are specifically going after Scott Richter, CEO of CPAEmpire, as he is a previously convicted spammer and self proclaimed 'Spam King'.

I guess all the mySpace marketers will need to find a new place to send traffic... Looks like scott will need a few bucks to cover the costs of the lawsuit.

No surprise here though, this case has been a long time coming.

- Phishers are the most damaging/frustrating of mySpace marketers to mySpace itself and especially to mySpace users who get their accts hit

- Scott is an easy target with previous spam issues with CAN-SPAM and Eliot Spitzer... So let's pick on him.

- CPAEmpire was a favored network for phishers

If anyone knows how to dig up the ACTUAL court filing, i would love to see it.

Pretty interesting...

As ChickenHole said, he's a pretty easy target.

Strategic move by MySpace.

If myspace would changed their shitty ass cold fusion code, they would have a fraction of the problems they do now.

No shit! I can't believe they still can't get it right after all that money they got.
