and lastly, on your blog, you should let people know when you drop affiliate links like keycompete... probably have some 14 yr old who can't afford it trying it out bc you mention it and making you $.

I couldn't help but re-interject in this thread when I saw this. Shoe, you're an inspiration to a LOT of people in this business and there are a hell of a lot of people that hang on your every word as if you were some kind of god. Even I read your blog every once in a while and I'm not a huge fan of industry blogs.

However, if this is true - if you really are endorsing some tool just for the dough and not actually using it then I have to say that's pretty low. I realize that it's no different than Michael Jordon saying that he wears Hanes but how many people are going to waste very much valuable time and money on their fucking underwear? Tools are another thing. People just starting out frequently do so with very little money and so when a big name such as yourself says that something works, people are going to believe it, buy it, and potentially waste their time and effort using it because they simply don't know better.

However, if you actually stand behind it because you've used it, this post is nill. But if you're just hawking some bullshit for a buck then you're no better than any other shyster and scam artist out there.

IMO, the entire premise of paid blog posts have already cheapened the blogging platform exponentially and is the reason that Jon Chow's blog is nothing but a joke, at least to me. You've participated in this practice as well, which made me lose some respect but I'm only one guy so it's no big deal.

I'm not here to start a stink or cast stones but I think that some people's online celebrity status has gone to their heads in such a manner that they are selling out their positive reputation quicker than a prom dress comes off the school whore after a kegger. I'd like some reassurance from you that you actually stand up for the things you get paid to promote.

I thought it was just 4 people discussing arbitrage, i never heard any of them say they where experts/gurus or what they were saying was gospel, they were just giving their opinion were they not?
Why are you talking about gurus etc when ive never once even heard Shoemoney or any of them call themselves gurus.

also add, i dont care what shoemoney talks about or what not, but it was clear you aren't big in arbi, very clear... you may know people or whatever i dont give a shit... i dont have a beef with you or whatever, just sick of people believing everything they here...

and lastly, on your blog, you should let people know when you drop affiliate links like keycompete... probably have some 14 yr old who can't afford it trying it out bc you mention it and making you $.
Whats wrong with affiliate urls exactly? Isn't this mainly an affiliate forum why would you complain about aff links? In forum posts maybe since we don't own the forum but aff links on someones own blog??
Lol and Mikkel Demib doesnt' really sound like a British name hes from Denmark :)

However, if this is true - if you really are endorsing some tool just for the dough and not actually using it then I have to say that's pretty low.

Crazy...you telling me you use and try everything you have ever promoted as an affiliate?

Finally, let me just reaffirm something here.. I give most people the benefit of the doubt at first. Unless they give me reason to not trust them or not like them. Don't think for a second that I can't read someone, the way they act, and shit they say or do behind my back, as if I won't find out. I take that stuff very seriously, and I have no problem whatsoever getting someone back for fucking me over. There are only a few people in the entire industry who I absolutely HATE. Lee Dodd is one of the for fucking me over and just being an absolute scumbag, and Chris Lingle is the second one for lying about having cancer and making me, and others here feel stupid for trusting him. Aside for those two people, I don't hate anyone. I may have not liked Engaged, but I am very willing to forgive and forget just so long as someone is GENUINELY sorry or we can work it out somehow. But those two names mentioned, I could care less about them, and will NEVER say a single good thing about them after fucking me over.
You mean in all your days as a spammer, porn dude, affiliate guy, arbi homie, you only seriously hate 2 people in this whole industry and those 2 you only started hating then after the birth of wickedfire? Dayum

2 that standout like that, yeah. If I put some serious thought into it I can probably come up with more... wooo.. John Lemp from ClickBooth too!

Engaged, since you are a big player in the arbi game. What thoughts and tips can you provide us smaller guys regarding the recent announcements?

Bear in mind, I don't do single page MFA but non scraped content, TOS compliant, good looking mini sites around niches. It seems at least one other member who is doing the same thing got banned.

Mr ShoeMoney,

Maybe I'm biased because I spend a lot of time here at WickedFire, but I also read your blog and both have been useful sources of information.

I've got to say reading your comments here my opinion of you has gone down a lot. It's obvious there's some history with you and Jon, but you were being challenged about your knowledge of arbitrage and you responded by bringing up unrelated personal matters, throwing insults and dropping-names.

Like it or not mate - as Geekcognito said - you've got kids looking up to you and plenty of people like me who consider(d) you a good source of information. Implying you think this place is full of "shit talking fake bullshitting people", when most people here know otherwise makes me question your judgement about other things as well and be less likely to value your advice. I don't think I'm alone in that.

This might be different if you address the original accusation - that you were talking about something you have little experience of - without sounding childish.

I'm not saying it's wrong to talk about something you don't have experience of (as long as you don't lie about that). The best teachers aren't always the most experienced, but those that know how to teach.

Jon has had the balls to admit when he's been wrong. (Even if he's a clever marketer that knows full well just how good that makes him look!)

I don't expect a reply to this, as I understand you are such a busy, important person. If you could find time to consider the effect your reaction here may have on your readers and respond to the original accusation I'm sure it would be appreciated.

Regards,

An average blog reader, who until now valued your opinion.

(If you think I'm sucking up to Jon or something, check my posts - I've spoken out when I've disagreed with him. I bend over for no man!)

dekalog6 - I think you'd be better putting that in another thread mate, it might get lost here.

i'll be honest, after getting banned from adsense a few months ago, the arbi income isn't back where it was, but it will be soon...

if you still want to do arbi with adsense, make it something useful. you could still probably get 40%+ ctr on a site that looks good. Instead of just using crap RSS feeds, pull in some wiki data, product reviews, product comparisons, maybe an article from an article directory...

the days of:

Title
Ad
Ad
RSS

are over if you get big and start doing volume.

I am really interested to see if 5-top-sites got banned this coming June 1st, they are one of the few big boys left with that format.

So this thread has turned into an engaged Q&A? haha.

As long as you're checking it, engaged, what do you think about other PPC networks with Arbi? I don't really want to lose my Adsense account over this nonsense.
