So who here has a college degree but doing IM anyways!

i have masters, but i was goign to uni to learn somethign for myself not to learn exact occupation so that doesnt change anything for me ;)

yep, degree in finance and halfway to a masters, but won't finish it. Doesn't matter how good you good you are at this, I sincerely believe the college experience is not to be missed. On the other hand, I wouldn't go back, and I probably would've traveled instead, but I've got quite a network because of school.

I went to college and wouldn't trade those days for anything!

10K coeds and mushroom tea! Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Took a leave of absence to focus when the IM monies got too big. That said, I did go back and wrap up my last year of undergrad after setting up a proper operation. It's great for building a network and alumni relations, depending of course on where you go.

I did it really fucking backwards.

Started college after H.S. Left college with 10 units left to take a full time job in the auto industry. Worked for 16 years doing corporate vehicle sales. Left car business in 09 to do "IM". Went back to school in 2011, at 37 years old, and got my B.S. Still doing "IM", and not using my degree. Now someone top that shit.

One thing I discovered going back to school at an older age, is that just learning some new stuff is really worth the time & effort. Yeah 75% of it is just BS and going through the motions to get a grade, but you get out what you put into it. If you have the opportunity, keep learning, even if you think "college is bullshit", "I don't need it". You may be right, but it's damn ignorant to think that you couldn't learn something that might help you as a human being, not just a piece of paper to get a job at Initech.

At 37 did you feel odd?
How were the Chicks.. Did they treat you any Different.

I am 35 and I don't feel 35 at all. ie, until I hang out with 20 year olds.
Did you feel the same?

If you were unmarried, could you have scored well with the 20 year olds?

PS: I am married. These are just Hypothetical questions.

PPS: Maybe Mid 30's crisis.

I was like Van Wilder. Went for 7 years and didn't even finish my degree in psychology with a minor in sociology. I had a lot of fun though, and I would never tell anyone not to do it. Some of the best years of my life.

Yeah it was strange. Most of these kids were Juniors and Seniors 21/22 years old. Talking about frat parties and how they were going to get a job at _______ company when they graduated. I was just thinking, if you only knew how good you had it here. Enjoy this place as long as you can, before life gets in the way.

TONS of hot chicks, it was just stupid. Surprisingly they didn't treat me any different being an old man. I had lots of chicks who were supper friendly and chatty with me in the 6 courses I took.

Nothing against the youngsters, but at 20, these kids haven't done or seen or dealt with 1/3 of what you or I have. So their existence seems pretty basic compared to feeding a family, paying a mortgage etc. But shit, they get to go to school and party. Can't fault em for that being their main concern in life. I never got to experience that when I was going to school full time, cause I was working full time to pay for it.

Ha ha...yeah I don't think it would have been too difficult. Most were pretty into the fact that I was just finishing school for the hell of it, and that I worked for myself and all that shit. I don't look 37/38 either, so I don't any of them would have guessed I was that old. Early summer at SDSU. The bevy of hotties on campus in little shorts was insane. Reason enough for any guy to go back to school.

Don't worry, I wont' tell your wife.

Don't buy a corvette...go back to school. ;)
