So You Think You're INTJ?

Too much fucking details. Introvert/extrovert is bullshit for me, everyone is unique and has it's own style and personality and IMO you can't label someone introvert/extrovert. At least not on that signs.

Someone likes to party, to have fun with people but at the same time when he gets a chance he likes to relax in a quiet place. What does that mean? Nothing strange, no introvert/extrovert bullshit.

Don't knock the theory down yet. Introversion/Extroversion is not bullshit; take a look at the theory of personality types, and then you'll have a better understanding of where all this introversion/extroversion stuff comes from. Like you, I used to think it's bullshit too because introversion/extroversion appears oversimplified.

Both introverts AND extroverts can enjoy partying, having fun with people, and having a bit of time to relax in a quiet place. What does it mean? Nothing significant.

An introvert focuses more on the inner world; the introvert is focused on the subjective. An extrovert focuses more on the outer world; the extrovert is focused on the objective. Introverts tend to feel drained after a long time in social situations, whereas extroverts tend to feel energized the more they socialize.

However, these things have absolutely nothing to do with liking to party, relaxing alone in a quiet place, or having fun with people. Both extroverts and introverts can enjoy both, but it would be the extrovert who prefers the parties/going out, whereas the introvert prefers solidarity and alone time.

Extroverts and introverts are both crucial for each other and for how societies work. Socionics is a russian psychology theory that builds off of Myers Briggs, Jung, and information metabolism, and it delves even deeper into how personality types interact with each other and how they are crucial for societies to function. For example, in the U.S. we have both a president and a vice president. However, if their ego functions conflict, they won't get along (see classic examples of Bush and Cheney, JFK and Lyndon Johnson) and society has a much more difficult time to function. If the leaders of the country can't get along, how will the society thrive? This is what socionics strives to understand and solve, and I think the Russians came up with it because the way their society functions is beyond fucked and really needs help in this area, so a demand for help in this area demanded a solution. Socionics is the future, but unfortunately it's only realized in Russia at the moment, and I don't see it being realized in the U.S. at any time soon.

What's your problem?
Dear friend.

There was a time when a new, low post count user such as yourself would not start off their posting career on this forum with the level of toxicity and aggressiveness you have displayed.

There was an air of forum civility, maintained by the whip and obeyed due to custom.

Yes, those were more genteel times, a civilized age in the history of Wickedfire where "You gonna get raped" probably would have been the response from a dozen posters to your emotive outburst.

Today, in a more liberal era that condones the development of new posters without such fear or respect, that has spawned over 3,000 horrible posts from Kiopa Matt (a feat inconceivable under the previous regime) you are here and posting among us, at least on the surface, as an equal.

But that does not mean everything which flows forth from your mind and your keyboard is quality. Indeed, your post to this thread was bad, and you should feel bad about making it.

This is a forum of intellectuals, not shit posters. Men of letters, not trashy newsboys. Connoisseurs of the long troll, not the short emo rant.

Let's keep the level of discourse higher than reddit. Or at least, let's continue to pretend to.

Thanks for listening.

I think you missed the point of the article. Being an introvert has nothing to do with being shy.

Most of the traits talked about in the article are changeable.

I have an issue with the idea that these traits are fixed. I know a lot of people who according to the traits mentioned in the article, went from being introverted to extroverted. I'm sure you can also train yourself to be alone as well and to enjoy it through meditation.

One of the major reasons people don't achieve their potential is because they underestimate how malleable their personalities are. This leads to people believing they can't do X or Y because "that's just not them".

Depends. If you think they are just habits like picking your nose, or preferences like hating onions, then yeah, you can probably change them.

But if you think there are characteristics of your soul, or deep rooted elements of your personality, your true being, then maybe not.

I did find the mention of low blood pressure interesting. That's a physiological component to what seems to be considered wholly a psychological phenomenon.

The majority of people on this forum are INTJs, and these traits are very effective at being an internet marketer.

I'm an ENFP.

Cool to see a couple other people here who study MBTI.

I agree with most people here being INTJs. I believe someone else made a poll about it and it showed the same result.

I'm ENTP by the way. I would say most of the people on here that are semi-trolling and making obscured references are ENTP or ENFP as well.

That said, I admire the INTJs abilities to get shit done, but I think our (ENFP and ENTP) strengths are at spotting new trends and opportunities weeks/months/years before others. I feel I'd do okay at SEO, but the competition is high and there are some really skilled people here. I prefer to create 'Blue Oceans' that haven't been explored before. Some hit and some fail, but it's been working out pretty well so far.

Sorry if I don't grovel at your so-called intelligence, while you're advocating anarchy from a small town in the Western Canadian Rockies, which is one of the most peaceful places in the world with the highest quality standard of living.

Would it mean that the opposite of this list means you're an extrovert?

23 Signs You're a Secret Extrovert (I'll note the dumbass ones)

4. Networking makes you feel like a genuine person.

5. You've been called "Not intense enough."

7. Downtime feels unproductive to you.

9. When you get on the subway, you sit at the front of the bench -– not in the middle.

10. You start to shut down after you’ve been active for too short.

11. You're in a relationship with an introvert.

12. You'd rather be an expert at everything than try to do one thing.

20. You look at the small picture.

21. You’ve been told to “stay in your shell.”

This article might be designed to just make you feel good about yourself LOL

I believe I am an ambivert.

Move Over Extroverts, Here Come the Ambiverts - Forbes

Even after taking MBTI tests, I usually come out 50/50 on the E/I scale (although I do have a slight preference towards extroversion).

I'm ENTP by the way. I would say most of the people on here that are semi-trolling and making obscured references are ENTP or ENFP as well.

I score ENTP as well. I agree, though - I envy the INTJ work ethic and their ability to strategize long-term. I think an ENTP/INTJ business partnership would be lethal, though.
ENTPs are wicked at brainstorming, spotting patterns, copywriting, etc... And INTJs would be great at dissecting the barrage of ENTP ideas and theories and executing the actionable/workable ones (while condescendingly shitting on the ones that aren't practical).

INTJs are also great at structuring things... something I feel ENTPs struggle with (I know I do).

Interesting topic and it's a topic I have been aware of since I was a child, I can only speak
for myself when I say I fit both of these categories but in very different circumstances I can admit growing up I was the complete introvert and odd as fuck I still am but I am aware of who I am now but this wasn't always the way growing up I always felt I was different than others around me I never enjoyed socialising like most others did I prefered my own space on my own terms. Then in my early teens I was introduced to the guy I now know as mad Frank this mother fucker was quiet the extravert and quiet a a big turning point on my path to self discovery. Mad Frank was me = some :stonedsmilie: and whatever else might have been going at the time I had turned into 2 totally different entities which looking back now was pretty fucked up lol nobody really picked up on the extravert side as mad Frank took over for many years which ended up being a lot of fun a lot of pain and and one big ass maths test on life and the choices we make and how those choices can define and shape you as a person. Franks reign of terror brought me half way around the world got me two holidays I didn't sign up for or agree to take part in but had no choice. When all was said and done I ended up back where I belonged excepting myself as the introvert and owning it as I had earned it. I know the innie in me likes to figure things out and put my own twist on things.

*sigh* I'll let it go this time since it was such a moving speech and I appreciate your use of "men" where "people of letters" just sounds shady, but let's recall that there are a few women around as well, eh? :1bluewinky:

Man, that's so very... Diplomatic of you. Thanks for letting that terrible faux pas go.

I mean, it would have CRUSHED me to think that you or any of the other women on this board (who are LEGION, btw) would be disappointed that anyone here wasn't Beta enough for you.

Let me end with a little comedic relief:

Why did GOD give women legs?
