So I had someone create a landing page for me and I added the text content for it. Yesterday I found some *doucebag* copied my landing page from images to content. The only thing different is that he/she changed the "copyright 2007 douchebag.com" and he added another stolen image from another competitor site.

I dont use this landing page anymore because I split test and I'm currently using a better one. But I'm still pissed off and want to do SOMETHING about it... I was thinking of e-mailing the address under the private registry stating that his site is in copyright violations. Has anyone encountered this before?

You could be "professional," or just start fucking around. You could send a really official looking letter to him in the mail...

Contact him/her, inform them that you own the copyright to the text and images used (assuming you do). Threaten legal action, reporting to host, ad network, etc...

I did something similar with an article I'd written and found used with no credit, he removed it.

If this landing page you had created was not sold to you exclusively then you have a much weaker case if it's just 'some text' (s)he's stolen from you.

you could just focus your efforts on making more money and realize that douche bags will fail in the end.

Yea there's not a lot you can do. People scrape my site all the time and usually I don't worry about it.

One scraper was really bad, in particular, as in he was ranking above me on some keywords and people were starting to read content and comment on it on his site rather than mine. THAT guy got his IP address re-directed to an RSS feed full of goatse.

The "douche bag" probably has a repertoire of all sorts of shit you don't like that he learned straight from Wicked Fire.

Stupid thread belongs at SP. Maybe you'll get a whole lot of "intelligent responses" and get "front page" with this thread there.
