While this wasn't bystander effect, as far as I can see (the person who moves them out of the way and then seems to just carry on with their day), almost all of us are susceptible to the bystander effect. Just a couple of months ago, I was walking through Piccadilly Circus, one of the busiest parts of London. Someone lay unconscious outside one of the shops. Not a single person, out of thousands that would've walked past gave a shit, until I stopped, tried waking him, and phoned 999. Suddenly, 5 people appeared out of nowhere, all suddenly helping, people that would have almost certainly kept on walking otherwise.
