I wish I knew what direction to point you in, its just something I learned in school and have always taken for granted. How do we charge? Well, you can do it manually: Add ad spots to the sidebar and accept it using Paypal. There are some plugins for selling ad spaces on your blog.

Third way it to use third pary services which will do the whole process for you including accepting payment.

Work on getting traffic and quality content to your site first before you even consider asking people to pay to advertise on it.

No-one will pay to advertise on your site if theres nobody there to see it.

You can charge by the CPAs but the CPMs are better because of the CPC where as the CPL is also good btu it depends on the IAB units for the nofollow attribute of the text link at the placement level if they are above the fold because of heatmap and click tracking and also the monthly charge is good but tell to pay by paypal masspay and don't tell about the I/Os is not something like WF but don't ghostfire leads and also consider the lplockdown.

I def agree. I am very new to this industry so some questions I ask might sound weird or might have obvious answers. Im in a learning stage so i just ask questions and read everything. Lets just say im super curious about everything
