Sooo...I'm moving from Norway to the U.S.!

Look at "The Golden Rule" or "Blue Cross" or "Kaiser Permanente" for health insurance. Or let your wife take on a corporate job somewhere and she gets cheap health insurance that covers the entire family. How old are the kids?

You should be able to register an LLC with no issues. Then get a tax payer ID from the IRS. Setup EFTPS for tax payments and make sure to get a tax account to set everything up for you (Quickbooks, EFTPS, etc.). The LLC setup is usually pass-thru taxation. Easy to file everything while getting many benefits a corporation has - especially with the write-offs and stuff like that.

Seattle is nice, but rainy. I could not live there. I would get depressions. One day when I make enough money southern California will be home. Moved here to CO from Germany many moons ago. I need the sunshine ;)

Anyway, best of luck with the move.

LOL as usual....that would be a no... Norway, Sweden & Finland perform highest year after year on quality of life indexes.

If you think there aren't any wealthy scandinavians -min 8 figures a year in Euros or Dollars - you are sadly mistaken...

Norway can claim the most millionaires in the world - Aftenposten - News in English - Aftenposten.no

Lyka Till E.!

This is the most fallacious post I've ever seen you make. And I've seen a lot.

1. "Quality of life" indexes, and indeed most complex numbers like that, weight stupid shit like "access to health care for poor people" as a factor. Which has nothing to do with your quality of life, if, like papajohn said, you have a "halfway decent income."

2. Having (m|b)illionaires in your country, does not in any way indicate how good your life could be outside of Norway. In fact, it probably indicates just how good government is at reallocating funds towards their friends...

Additionally, and probably the same problem, there seems to be some weird lack of arbitrage/excessive sales tax going on in those countries. You can be rich in American terms and still completely unable to afford anything within the country. If you travel, you'd be a king, I guess. Just as a stupid example of that, the Economist's Big Mac Index calls Norway the most expensive place.

Edit: @papajohn56, subigo lives on like $21.56 a year, remember? OK, maybe it was a bit more than that. Of course he wants to go somewhere where other people pay for his responsibilities...

YOU CAUGHT ME!!!! I DID IT!!! I MAKE FALLACIOUS STATEMENTS ALL THE TIME!

Forgive me, you get bored when you retire before 35.

Enjoy your day dear.....

Norway quality of life tops list - Washington Times
ANGKOK | (AP) Norway enjoys the world's highest quality of life, while Niger suffers the lowest, a U.N. agency said Monday, as it released a ranking that highlights the wide disparities in well-being between rich and poor countries. The annual Human Development Index, unveiled in Bangkok by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), takes into account life expectancy, literacy, school enrollment and per capita gross domestic product in 182 countries.

Damn socialist liberal lies!!!!

lol

Anyway, don't want to hijack your thread Image....take care

Anyone with a halfway decent income should never want to move to Norway.

The climate in Norway is excellent. The landscape is beautiful. The women are the hottest in the world. And they are ranked #1 in the world for one night stands.

Sorry, but Norway wins. I'd gladly give 50% of my income to live there, no matter how much I was making. I consider it the you-get-to-live-in-a-badass-part-of-the-world fee.

PS
Scandi guys have HUGE feet so make sure to invite some relatives over LMAO..........!

That's right.... ;) ;)

i went to norway last summer. tons of cute girls that paid no attention to me...

Maybe you didn't speak a word to them. If you come here with pretty much any native english accent (American, Australian, even British) those girls will be all over you. ;)

True that.
However, you're wrong on one account;
The climate in Norway is excellent.
Uhm, it's really not. Lol..
Unless of course, you can handle darkness, snow and winter from october until april every year. Winters here can be *harsh*, especially inland in the country. If you're like me (and I was born here for crying out loud) though, that shit gets old real quick. Several feet of snow. Months on end where the sun goes down around 3pm with sub-zero temps. Icy roads, frozen cars, colds and flu's nonstop. Ugh. The winter is the main reason my wife got serious depression and homesickness.

After two weeks in Seattle sipping the world's best coffee, you'll be crying for a taste of lutefisk and boiled potatoes. It's not easy to separate yourself from dried cod cured in lye.

Best to bring a large supply over with you. Be prepared!

Lutefisk can be found in local stores here in MN. I can probably ship it if anybody has a craving and can't find it in their location. ;)

I should have said perfect for me (minus the flu part). That's exactly what I like and one of the main reasons I'd move to Alaska.

Winter hiking/camping (and snowboarding) is something I would do everyday if I could.

/I hate heat and bugs.

The women are giant neanderthals, are you thinking of Sweden?

Granted, I've never actually been there, so it might be one giant suckfest. All I do know is that when I worked in Yellowstone, Norwegian girls visited (and worked) there by the truckloads and almost every last one of them was insanely hot.

No need to move across the world for that -- Whistler Blackcomb has everything you'd want ;)

Epic skiing/snowboarding, hiking, camping and mtn biking trails during the summer. Plus, you have a constant stream of beautiful women from all over the world visiting the area.

And you are only a 2hr drive from Vancouver, BC.

The place defines heaven, IMO.

Looking forward to meeting you at a show man, that's awesome that you'll be in the states. ASE is out but will you be hitting Ad-Tech NY in November?

Yeah it will be nice finally meeting many of you fo' real. And yes, I will definitely try to make Ad-Tech NY my first conference.

Wut? Dude, you need to get your butt over here and see them for yourself! The idea that Sweden has the best looking women in Scandinavia is a myth. Ask Lord Brar - he's been to both countries and can testify. :D
