Alright, so I started messing around with Facebook Ads. I created an ad about ringtones (*not* in English) and used a Squidoo lens as landing page (:anon.sml: quite crappy one, I know, but it's a small scale experiment). Now, according to FB stats I got 45 clicks in 3 days... but Squidoo stats only show 13 visits!

So what's happening? Are Squidoo stats wrong or is Facebook making a fool of me? Or maybe both?

:bigear:

Yep I would say they are definately fucking you. I've always found Squidoos stats to be pretty much spot on.

When I was doing a lot of business on facebook, I'd notice everyday facebook was about 25% over what my actual clicks were. I know that because my tracking is in real time, and counts double clicks. I'm not sure what their problem is.

Dude I would seriously consider sacking off Squidoo. Have you seen the amound of other bullshit on the page apart from your own sales copy? You've giving the user way too many options to click away from your lens into another lens or even some of the contextual ads. Pay someone to build you a decent template for a landing page and then just use that to promote your offers. You can get a template like this

Compare DVD Rentals Online

made for about $75 from myowndemon on WF and then just canabalise that whenever you need to for other niches.

lol facebook ads with squidoo landing page
just paypal all your money to me, save yourself some time

That would have been my next step :laughing-smiley-007 I also thought about DeStone tho.

On a more serious note, I know it's not the brightest idea. It was just a (very) small scale experiment, just to check out how it works.

Anyway, thanks everybody for the advice.

Here is pretty safe method to watch your traffic

Build a unique landing page just for the particular ad

Load tracking software on landing page

Use Liveperson monitor software

Load email capture page on landing that redirects to final offer.

Once you have this formula down you can monitor pretty close
if traffic is bogus or is the traffic live human interaction

Thanks
