I realize this may depend on how you personally like to structure your business, but generally speaking, what have you found to be the most efficient/effective way to start a campaign?

Niche research >> KW research >> AdCopy research >> LP design?

Or do you design the LP first and then go about the KWs?

Thanks!

Thanks. I've done some campaigns before just wondering what people found to be the best way to start them. I usually find the offer, build the page, and then get KWs, but KWs are usually an on-going process.

Thanks again

First off all wrong, the first thing you should do is niche research and in the same time keyword research.Altrough you are running a PPC campaign(which is based on keywords),correct?

First search for "good" keywords with low competition because otherwise your competition will "eat you alive",you will be in a situation like biding $2 for one click. When you find good keywords with low competition(if there are any in that niche) see if the campaign can be profitable in that niche, ask people for honest answers on conversion in that niche(average conversion for all niches is 1:100),because conversions vary from one niche to the other and that can decide if your campaign will be profitable or not.

From the start you must know what you are going to sell,so you can do niche and keyword research for that service or product.

So you found a good niche, less competitive keywords and now is time to build your landing page and write a sales letter.(for writing sales letters i would recommend you to hire a native english)

It is always better to have your own landing page,Don't direct link to the merchant.

I am a "native English" - This is given that I did niche research already.

Honestly, I don't know how you have the tag "PPC master" but I don't really think the average conversion rate is 1% - How could I even build an LP or find KWs without knowing the niche anyways?

You sir are a fucking idiot. Everything you have said thus far in your 20 some odd posts is either blatantly obvious and just plain fucking wrong. I could go through the above post and point out about 15 things that are just simply wrong and/or retarded. Please remove the "PPC master" and your sig links. You are obviously just a spammer trying to get your shitty sites out there. Go back to DP. Cakes, xmcp, SOMEONE, please drop the god damn banhammer on this fagot already.

This is so hard to advise, but I generally test in small batches direct linking to the merchants page. If an offer starts to get conversions then I'll develop my own lander and work on expanding the keyword list from there.

Like all successes in AM, you need to burn through a lot of shit to find the golden combination of landing page/ad/lander that converts great.

Recently I've been testing offers on google content network where clicks are cheaper, then when I find a winner I scale it using my own landers with dynamically inserted keywords for QS score. The only issue here is I put all my eggs in googles baskets, so I'm testing a few offers on 2nd tier engines where results can be so different from google.

But how much research can you put into a niche? Just because its competitive doesn't mean money can't be made, but your budget needs to be bigger. Spying on other affiliates for niche research is a bit overrated IMHO, but thats a whole other topic.

The first thing I would do before doing anything else is to make sure the offer is converting and know how well it's working for me. How? Throw them out there as fast as you can using some of the most obvious keywords and see if there's a potential.

I've personally had lost so much time trying out offers recommended my affiliate managers and didn't work out. Don't get too caught up with their 'bi weekly report' shit, because what's working for others might not be working for you.

My point is, you should not spend too much time on keyword research/landing page/etc until you are very sure the offer is working for you. Once the offer is proven to be a winner, it's just a matter of scaling it by making a better landing page, adding more keywords, finding alternative traffic sources etc.

Thanks guys.

@prince - For an acai offer you would direct link to their page with words like: "acai pills"
"acai diet" "acai benefits" "acai berry" etc? Throw some super short tails in there (the traffic whore words) and see if you can get some conversions, while probably losing some coin?

I tried that and got my ass wiped on that offer. Short tail keywords were so fucking expensive, even with an awesome QS (but average CTR) but I did find a few long tails that are still converting ok.

Thanks harry - Moreso looking for the way you went about it. On the same hand, you would do "green tea diet" "green tea weight loss" etc for a green tea offer and see if there is potential there?

That's all - Thanks :)
