It really looks like alien tech to me, nothing should be able to move like that.
Whew, is your head ever going to explode when the military begins equipping satellites with weapons grade lasers.
The blades just invert to provide either upwards, or downwards lift, it's nothing crazy really.
Nowadays the power to weight ratio achieved by these motors is insane though, which is why it looks unnatural. You couldnt do this in a full size helicopter as the body weighs far too much in comparison to the amount of lift generated by the engine,
