Hypocritical, considering the supposedly conservative Fox journalist that stalked these guys probably knocked off at 3pm for a liquid lunch and a couple of lines of coke, and didn't bother to go back to work until the next morning.

1-2 hour lunches and 3 pints was the norm for both my company jobs for 10 years running. We smoked dope on the roof of the office 2 or 3 times a day. Heck, one of the owners of the last place I worked owns a rolling paper company. So I've got a pretty casual stance on such things.

All that being said, these guys are responsible for assembling machinery that if improperly done could cost someone their lives. You need to draw the line somewhere.

Same here, I was surprised they bothered to leave because back in the day guys used to do that shit on the line. I remember when I was a supervisor and I saw a hilo driver dropping shit and driving dangerously so I told his union rep I was sending him to the clinic for a piss test. He refused to go and walked off the job. Good ol UAW had his job back by the end of the week. The union only served to keep the jobs for the worst employees. The guys that did their job didn't need a union because management took care of them.
