Terrible Conversion with AdWords

I have a zip campaign that did well with Yahoo Search Marketing. So I took everything - exact same landing pages and search terms and put it in AdWords.

I've baffled by the terrible conversion rates - usually I get 20-25% but so far I've gotten 60 clicks and ZERO conversions.

Any thoughts on this? I'm keeping everything constant - even position. It isn't a tracking issue as I spoke with my Copeac AM who sent in a test lead, which was tracked a few minutes after he sent it in.

60 clicks isn't much to go on. I've had a campaign running for a month now that I average a 4-1 ROI on.

I'm fairly new to working with adwords, the first day I ran the campaign I was getting a conversion every 10 clicks, over 300+ clicks.

The second day I had a ton of clicks (can't remember exactly how many) without a single conversion.

It's sort of balanced out now after I tweaked it, I'm basically spending about $20 a day to earn $80 on this campaign, so I'm netting $40-$60 a day on it.

Adwords can be tricky.

I would never assume that Adwords will convert as well as Yahoo or MSN. Quite the contrary actually. They may have the most traffic, but it's not the best traffic...

It depends on what you're promoting. I personally get better ROI from Adwords than anything else.

Google searchers and yahoo searchers are two very different demographics. Trying to simply "move" a campaign wholesale from one to the other has never really worked for me (& I've been thick enough to try it several times).
