Hulk is awesome. Movie is nice : )

And yeah, agree on statement that 3D adds nothing.

FUARK!

Still can't believe Christian Bale was convinced to do the Batman cameo.

DAT SHIT CRAY

What the hell are you talking about?

I saw it...Loved it--it's not meant to be War and Peace, it's a superhero movie--action level was perfect, plot was a little slim, but c'mon, it has the hulk in it, how much more plot do you need?

TV Hulk had plot, and I thought it made for a much richer treatment of the character than he gets in the movies. He has a lot of power, of course, but also profound losses - both in his past (TV hulk's wife) and the foreseeable future (every close relationship is doomed). I like the contrast of the two.

I realize it's a lot harder to give much attention or depth to any one character when you're working with an ensemble cast, but this definitely wasn't my favorite comic book film (not even close). The Batman movies, almost without exception, do a really good job of showing us the human, emotional story that goes along with the action. Captain America: The First Avenger did, too.

The Avengers was great on action, but super weak in terms of underlying story. Over and over again, they forgot the principle of "show, don't tell". So Black Widow has "red on her ledger"...a flashback or something to show us how bad it was would have gone a long way to making us feel how badly she wanted to set things right. The Hulk tried to kill himself, but they made light of it with talk of "the other guy" spitting out the bullet. More details on what came before that attempt would have helped us to feel his pain and be more invested in his story. Captain America was obviously feeling lost and disenfranchised in this weird new time - and I would have loved to see a scene where they drove that point home in a slightly more serious way.

The movie was good, and I enjoyed watching it...it just wasn't the kind of story that gets in your head and stays with you. I guess it'll hold me over until The Dark Knight Rises :)
