Isn't it fuckin great????? Bitches n blow kinda great.

I half didn't think it would work out cause I'm getting brain surgery next week but the owner said to call when I'm ready to come in post-op.

We hung out today and I met everyone and got to see all the cool shit I get to work with. They wanted someone with experience with the game engine I've been using for a few years now, but they have all kinds of sensors, cameras and experimental shit they want to use as input. They want to create a position in house to learn the apis and mainly just prototype concepts with the game engine.

It is saaa'weeeet.

In all seriousness...your job sounds kinda cool. Buzzwords like "prototype" and "sensors" get me hard.

Job: a piece of work, especially a specific task done as part of the routine of one's occupation or for an agreed price.

Everyone on this forum has a job or is striving to have a well paying one.

Money isn't the prime asset, happiness is. We're all grinding for money because we assume it leads to happiness.

If the OP landed his Dream job and is happy, than it seems he is wealthier than most of the posters on this forum full of entrepreneurs.

Congrats man

You make too much sense. Fuck you.

Time in exchange for a set amount of money.

This is what we try and get away from as entrepreneurs. Yes, we still exchange our time like everyone else, but we try and leverage that time spent for exponential amounts of money.

Money isn't the prime asset, happiness is.

Happiness is fun, but it's not everything.

My last w-2 job was in construction(decent money). Getting laid off was the best thing to happen. I went back to school 3 years ago and have been doing drywall and handyman jobs for money. Programming as a hobby even back when I worked construction, it's the most empowering skill I can think of.

I think of myself as an entrepreneur, I've been a landlord since I was 19, had a general contracting license in seattle, had a lumber business, etc. I grow pot. But I view programming as the grand prize where I could be in costa rica 10 years from now doing whatever I want.

I picked up the Unity game engine on my own time, outside of school, using C# 3 years ago. I took a break to mess around with html5 and javascript for mobile development but then got $800 worth of mobile dev licenses from Unity and went back to it a year ago.

For some random reason a couple weeks ago I registered as a developer on elance and freelancing sites, this job was posted as looking for someone local to seattle to phyiscally work in the office, and wanted someone experienced with javascript and Unity game engine, my 2 favorite things ever.

I sent them samples of my work and they PM'd me their phone number and said to call. I met with them yesterday to go over it, and it blew my mind. Basically they want to branch out into augmented reality and have tons of gadgets to work with. Everyone else there is an artist and he has some freelancing indians programmers he's been using but he wants to create a permanent position in-house to put together all the stuff and learn the api's. Then just think of cool shit to make and brainstorm with the artists to make it happen.

I'm already going to be poor long after I make good money from all the medical bills WITH health insurance, I really couldn't give a fuck about money at the moment.
