The Departed

thought departed was seriously overrated

has scorsese made a good movie in the last 15 years? I think Casino was last i liked

watched gladiator last night and loved it again, def a timeless flick.

gonna take a wild guess but i think any movie that uses CGI (short of one or two short scenes where it is REALLY needed) will not hold up well with time.

Gladiator's a good movie. Ebert was too harsh on it (oddly enough, for the CGI). I've watched it several times, and it always seems fresh to me.

What's the matter with you, knucklehead?! This is OLD! Besides, it a remake. Didn't ya know that, ya dope? - with small edits by TM

Yep. I know it's old. I know it's a remake. And I feel like a dope because I thought you guys would enjoy the reminder. (shoulders slumped, head hung low, and staring at my shoes)

I think the movie has wings. In twenty years, it may look as warmed over as a Warrant tribute band, but I have a feeling it's gonna age well.

Regarding Infernal Affairs, I remember when Ebert covered it. The movie sounded great, but it fell off my radar. Thanks for the reminder.

At least this thread has nothing to do with Islam. So, y'know... it's got THAT goin' for it.

i share your enthusiasm for the movie. it's all around top notch. very re-watchable.

i didn't get the same feeling from Infernal Affairs. with Departed, nothing was lost in translation. you can appreciate the dialog and everything else to the fullest.
