So what's up, OP? I'm curious to know how you're doing. You've gotten some good feedback from some smart guys in this thread, so pop in and give everyone an update.

OK well I've decided to go with the content network only. I have identified people who are promting the same offer and have used campaign sniper to build a pretty good keyword list and kept it to fairly low cost keywords for now until I can build up some budget and go for the higher volume keywords.

I have packed my keywords into tight ad groups and have several variations of the ads being rotated. I am also having 3-4 different landers being built and have read images and words thread on using different landers based on the buying mode of the user which for the niche im going into. So I havent actually launched anything yet I am making sure I set this up correctly so that I can test pretty much every area of the system and remove shit as I go for stuff that isnt making me any cash.

If your hitting up the content network:

- build a kw list of around 2000+ kw's, you can throw them into 1 adgroup in Google Adwords Editor
- go to 'Tools', and 'Keyword Grouping?' and it will split all your keywords into groups
- Best to go through these manually and remove shit that isnt relevant
- Set max daily budget to 50-100$
- Set max bid to around 15% of your payout
- Run it for 24 hours, hopefully its maxed the budget
- Pause adgroups that have less than .10%CTR, if theres not many, then .05%CTR
- Try to keep all adgroups above .10%CTR, pause and create a new ad every once in a while to try get it higher, but never edit all ads at once
- You can adjust daily budget now if its beginning to show promise

And over time pause the adgroups that arent converting(for me usually 2-3x the payout), you'll probably be left with maybe 2-8 adgroups in the end but you should hopefully be running profit.

I would add a few things to these good points.

1. Only put 50 keywords in each adgroup. Google only utililizes up to 50.
2. Track to the adgroup level.
3. I wouldn't set max bid to 15% of payout if payout was $30. Not unless you feel like you can get a 15% conversion rate. That would be a max bid of $4.5. Pretty extreme for the CN.

Your right, Ive got a bit of a fever at the moment so not thinking straight.

Scrap the bid at 15%, you can just go up to $1.

If you group 50 kw's per adgroup AND use the method I use in the Goog Adwords Editor you can end up with double the amount of adgroups :)

And definately track to adgroup level, or you'll have NFI what is going on.
