The Godaddy super bowl ad and its downfall

Its fucking ridiculous how people are freaking out about this, just because it's on TV doesn't mean its real. Some of the comments I've read you'd think they were denying the Holocaust. I cant stand how everything now has to be so PC.

I bet after they posted these comments they ate a nice T-bone steak.

This ad is beyond disturbing. It makes me sick.

It is bad enough that GoDaddy tries to sell people on sexy females by using Danica Patrick as its poster girl, she is not sexy nor a very good driver...but, to use a cute puppy in a rip off, dumb and disrespectful ad is real low for even advertising...at least the CEO recovered from his brain lock of approving it for air to pull it before the boycotting of GoDaddy.com could take place...

This was supposed to be funny?

They spent a million dollars or so to create the ad, got it banned from the Super Bowl, and now have it being shown on every talk show and news program in the country generating tens of millions of dollars in exposure.

Yet reading the comments here you would never guess it was a marketing forum...

But maybe it isn't anymore.

The video made me lol. I had read all the comments in this thread and top of youtube first, so was expecting the puppy to drown or something. Definitely wasn't expecting such a mild joke considering the uproar. Butthurt people gonna get butthurt, I guess.

Side thought: If I were an animal rights activist, wouldn't I be happy to see the dog go to a caring owner (e.g. one willing to lay down money for a puppy) instead of seeing it stay with apathetic dog breeders?

I'm confused... when did being a (responsible) dog breeder become such a horrible thing?

I guess they're just supposed to drown the pups in a bucket of water, instead of taking care of them for the first 8 weeks of their life?

I don't know...seems like they work. Outside of online professionals, everyone I know uses GoDaddy to register their domains.

They're the only registrar who's running commercials. That's why everyone uses them, because they know of no one else!

It was pretty good, they would have been fine with the PETA hippies if they had a family with some kids or something picking the dog up when it sold.

Apparently every company fuck-up is a masterminded marketing campaign... sometimes it aint.

This x 10,0000.

If you think it's an accident that there's controversy about their ads every single year - go home.

I love dogs as much as the next guy - but if you're engaging in a discussion on animal rights because of this commercial, then GoDaddy has you right where they want you.

The cute puppy tugs on the heart strings a bit but I can't help but chuckle a bit at the end because it's a joke, lol.

People forget that it's meant to be a joke. I don't get it.

I don't see the real reason for anyone being offended, I just thought the ad was stupid. Bring back big-breasted sluts please Godaddy.

No shit, I just realized I went fishing with the guy who made this ad, a couple weeks ago

Carls Jr just did the same thing. They created an ad for the Super Bowl and all kinds of groups are trying to get people to contact the NFL to get it banned because it's too "racy". It's exactly what they want. Now everyone is searching for it (including me) to check it out.

Now go watch it.

The one with the super hot model?

If it is... I'm willing to wager that the majority of ppl calling it to be banned are fat feminists, lol.
