We're working with one of the leading financial publishers in australia for extremely short tail financial terms. Everyone is happy.

One of our biggest HOTH breakthroughs was getting a client from ~page 5, to top 3 for an 96,000 exact match term for a product that retailed for $2000.

As long as you realize that 1 5HOTH won't get you to the top of "payday loans" or "insurance" overnight, you should be fine :) Consistent HOTHing definitely causes shifts in SERPs though.
 
This service looks good it is essentially what I do myself. I like the idea of outsourcing and not having to do it myself. But I have one important question.

Say I am only targeting one difficult keyword. I order 20 hoths just for this one keyword. Won't you run out of targets to put my links on before you complete 20 hoths? Links from the same place become less and less effective i.e. 2 different squidoo lenses targeted at the same keyword really isn't going to improve rankings. Where as 2 lenses for 2 different keywords would help each keyword.

I am assuming this service is for people targeting multiple lower competition keywords?

I think this is simply a false assumption and its not what our data has shown.

As for previous successes, here's what I wrote a few posts up-

As long as you're willing to invest in ranking for short tails, you can do it.

No matter how fancy of a link building service you're using, a competitive keyword is just that, competitive.
So be ready to make the necessary investments if you want to rank.

The down side of this is the extra cost, but I do believe it will have a longer stick life/% than simple 1 unique article/web 2.0 services.

All in all, if you have a decent size budget/looking for long term results, this is very interesting. If you are on the lower end of the budget/looking for quicker results, this might be out of your price range.
