Fucking love this graph - well done guys! Just thought I'd throw in a little update...ordered few hoths back in Sept for 3 urls - work was done long ago, and sites continue to stand in tops spots for their keywords....and I've done NOTHING to optimize. This is a greeaaat long term solution.

Sorry for the overreaction, I think it was just a big conincidence that the page got slapped down 40 pages on the day of the hoth. I know from experience that usually the serps don't respond within the same day like this, so the HOTH can't be to blame here.
I've narrowed the fault down to elsewhere. I registered a new domain and built the site and did seo for it, 2 months later I registered a brand new domain (exact match) and did a 301 to it,
301 bleeds around 20% linkjuice so I decided to log into my web 2.0 sites and manually change the backlinks to the new domain... Well that essentially "removed" the 2 month aged domain.. So my website moved back down.
So I'm pretty sure the derank is down to my own changes, and as the domain ages it will restore rank and get even higher with the HOTH.
I just received my 5 hoth report, and I'm pretty pissed. But I'll definitely outline the pros of this service because it does have some.
Pros:
Good interlinking. 2.0 websites all randomly interlinked to the top levels.
Pretty fast turn around time
Cons:
- The way they spin it is absolute garbage. The sentences hardly make sense, and if they do make sense you can tell it is generated content.
- Poor article titles
- Too many similar titles
- Content sucks
- Content sucks

If I was supplying this service, I would be absolutely embarrassed of the outcome of the properties.
They really need to learn how to use thebestspinner, or whatever other spinner they are using.
Is it really that hard to only identify the 'best synonyms' then spin using 'best' as a quality level. This will produce a low level of uniqueness, but then they can go about their business and spinning each sentence 3 times using the same settings.

Yea, it's not a bad service but the hype is out of fucking control. More than anything they are VERY good marketing guys. These packages they offer are no better than many others packages here except the prices are much higher.
They seem to be decent guys but people need to take a step back from the feeding frenzy and re-evaluate exactly what they're getting and what they're paying for it.

I am happy to say that the tone of the interaction, from both sides,
has been nothing short of 100% respectful, cooperative and professional.
As he said in his initial post he was "pissed," but working with him thus far

This is pretty much how I'm looking at the service. I've slacked on revising/adding better quality content to the top tier properties, and now reading this, I'm compelled to do it. Definitely not fun going back over crap writing and making edits to make it passable.
The service does show results in the SERPS, no question, and it's well put together. But the content really, really struggles, and as has been pointed out several times that is a weak link that puts the strength of the whole package in jeopardy. Lose a top tier property and you're losing a lot more behind it.
Edit: this isn't a complaint, just an agreement with the above assessment. If the content was either top quality spun or unique and came with a price bump, it would be very nice all around.

If you had your shit in line from the get go, proxyhub or the other people who have had complaints wouldn't need to complain.
Further more, what REALLY pisses me off, is that I sent two clients your way about a month ago - and both were disappointed - and I'm the one that told them don't worry about it, and that I would personally hook them up. I realize this doesn't effect the link juice being passed, but if they get deleted because of content, then it does effect the link juice.

My complaints were dealt with the utmost professionalism.
