Nolan and crew is probably one of the best main stream movie makers out there right now. He is all about the human psyche in his movies. His casting of the Riddler will work. But never be as good as Ledger, that was a legendary role and go down as classic for sure.

Agreed. The cheese has stuck with him throughout most of his career, but in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Number 23 he proved that he can act and can fit into the more credible roles. Joel Schumacher really did a hideous job with them films though, Carrey and Schwarzenegger couldn't have done much more with those shitty clownish characters. I forgive Schumacher anyway for making Falling Down with Michael Douglas. That is a classic.

Murphy can actually act..he was the best thing about Dream Girls in my view..but he doesn't pay the bills unless he does silly voices.

For me the problem is more the need to bring the Riddler back this soon at all.
